He ducked as a dart of some kind shot at him. Another three darts, and these he blocked with his backpack.
Hayabusa frowned and looked off to the right. "I was wondering where she went."
"'She'?" asked Ranma, thinking maybe he still had girl troubles.
"I think it's Ayane," said Hayate. "Paralysis drug?"
"Yes," said Hayabusa after sniffing at one of the darts. "Not Kasumi at least."
Ranma boggled at the thought of Kasumi Tendo trying to hit him with drug darts.
"Might be Lei Fang or Tina trying to imitate Ayane," said Hayate. "No. Probably Ayane."
"Ninja girls?" asked Ranma, mostly to himself.
"Well, you know how it is - once they've chosen a target they'll always keep after them," said Hayabusa. "Thought we'd lost them in China."
"Yeah, that ain't gonna happen," said Ranma, considering using the Great Will to fix this.
"No, more likely they've not been pursuing us this past year because they've thrown themselves into their training," said Hayate. "That way they can have a Tournament or something to determine who gets to bed the young lord first."
"Oh, well, that's all right then... say what?" asked Ranma, realizing abruptly that the 'young lord' was actually HIM.
"Oh hohohoho!" laughed a familiar laugh.
Ranma made a warding gesture. Kodachi?! Here?!
"Oh hohoho-" phutphutphutphut "-ho?" THUD!
Seeing the girl in a "Naga" outfit fall off the roof, Ranma was momentarily concerned.
Hayabusa checked her though. "Nice grouping, Ayane."
"She would have attacked Lord Ranma from ambush," said an albino-looking kunoichi that stepped out into plain sight. "Such will not be not tolerated."
"Try not to kill anyone," advised Hayabusa. "You promised - you know how it can inconvenience Lord Ranma."
"I never promised not to hurt those who threaten my Lord," said Ayane.
"She's after me?" whispered Ranma to Hayate.
"Actually, I think she's still after me," whispered Hayate back. "She mainly wants to prove herself a capable enough ninja to work alongside me."
"Oh?" Ranma asked. If that was the case, it wasn't much of a problem was it?
