Two days previously, a little girl relative of the Jusenkyo Guide (Plum) dropped a little toy into a spring. The Guide managed to use a net and grab the item before things could get worse, and everyone counted themselves lucky that things hadn't gone completely wrong.
Except, of course, they had. As the Guide could now figure out.
It was a Western style unicorn that emerged from the pool. Bearded, cloven hooved, roughly the size of a pony, with a graceful spiral horn over the forehead.
It was also, due to Ranma having upgraded himself and wanting to do the same for his frequent sparring partner, a possessor of magical powers. He knew a little about mythical unicorns due to hearing about unicorn horns having the power to cure curses, which had turned out to be bogus when he'd checked into it. Instead they could purify stuff like poisons. (The Unicorn Horn that had been offered for sale as such had also turned out to be fake. Kasumi had identified it as having come off of a Halloween costume she'd worn as a child.)
Well, Ryogacorn would be able to purify ANYTHING. Purify water (as much time as Ryoga spent in the wilderness - he could use it), food (handy to have him around if Akane started cooking), dirt and soil (he'd heard about some manga where a guy had the power to turn trash into trees and thought that had possibilities), and so on and so forth.
That whole bit about detecting virgins? Well, maybe if he detected INNOCENCE. Sweet and innocent detector worked, didn't it? Maybe he should add flight?
Ranma briefly considered that, then decided that didn't work too well. Give him the ability to make impressive leaps and run real fast, that'd be good enough.
☑ Retroactive change of Jusenkyo Spring Of Drowned Carp to Spring Of Drowned Unicorn, retcon taking period of two days.
☑ Ryoga's unicorn form will be able to purify polluted land, water, and air by touch - radius of three meters.
☑ Ryoga's unicorn form's purification power will be especially concentrated in the horn, able to purify poisons by touch.
☑ Ryoga's unicorn form will be able to run at speeds of 75kph and negate 90% of body weight while moving in order to leap distances in excess of 30 meters.
☑ Ryoga's unicorn form will be able to sense 'innocence' and 'purity' within individuals and be drawn to such things.
☑ Ryoga's unicorn form will be able to sense 'dark emotions' such as anger or jealousy or hate and be repulsed by such things.
Ranma considered that and the altered Ryoga, deciding it was good enough. He'd just leave him as:
