Shampoo moved her head faster than she should have, so a gasp and gape became a wince. "(He DIDN'T?!)"
Cologne nodded. "(You've just been beaten by a middle-aged wandering martial artist with some hair loss problems. Congratulations. Put down the sword, Shampoo.)"
Shampoo glanced up from where she was about to impale herself on her own sword. "(But - ICK!)"
"(He just barely beat you,)" responded Cologne. "(Maybe you can have a retrial later.)"
"(That isn't how it usually works,)" said Shampoo.
"(Child, NONE of this is going how it usually works,)" said Cologne.
"Well, Pop, congratulations," said the large cat as it grinned.
"Lazy boy," grumbled Genma.
"Well, now I'll just leave for awhile. Don't worry, I'll catch up later," said the cat with a yawn that revealed long glistening white fangs.
"Where do you think YOU'RE going?" demanded Genma.
"Simple," said the sabretooth, beginning to fade out. "You need some alone time with your new wife."
"Oh, I see," said Genma. "That makes sense. WHAT?!"
"Terrible tragic story," said the tiger, having faded almost entirely out. "According to the laws of this village, if an outsider male defeats an unmarried village woman - then they are married."
"WHAT?!" repeated Genma.
"In fact," said Ranma, only his tigerish head showing at this point, "here comes the bride now. Huh. It'll be a bit odd calling her Mother. Oh well."
"WAIT BOY! YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME TO... well whatta you know. He left me. Abandoned his own father." Genma pondered that. "Boy's finally learning. Waitaminute. Nodoka. If she... on the other hand it IS Nodoka. She might just consider this evidence that I'm manly. Hmmmm."
Ranma fast-forwarded. There was something he specifically wanted to alter, and the whole traipsing around China wasn't that appealing.
Instead he'd go ahead and visit another thing he'd wanted to alter, and get creative.
