"You're still holding that sword," pointed out Akane, the floor creaking underneath her as she reversed her usual 'light as a feather' technique to make herself heavier. Which surprised her on one level as she hadn't known she could do that.
"Ah, is so," said Shampoo, putting it aside. "Is not problem. Shampoo just want be with Ranma."
"How so?" asked Akane.
"Yeah, I never did figure out why you were after me," said Ranma. "You just kept busting down walls and slicing through tents and such."
"Is so," admitted Shampoo. "Is ancient Amazon Tribal Law of Dramatic Appearances."
"Can't you just use a smoke pellet?" asked Nabiki, holding up a pouch. "It's a lot cheaper."
"Ah," said Shampoo, "Shampoo not think about that. Have to check lawbook."
"So what about the reason you're after Ranma?" pursued Akane.
"Oh," said Shampoo, her look slightly more hooded as she glanced his way again. "You say was prisoner of 'nasty guys' - is so?"
"Yeah, that's right," said Akane.
"So was Shampoo. Village get raided by Triad, they very bads people who use che-mee-kal weaponses," said Shampoo, actually pulling out a dictionary and sounding out the difficult word during her explanation. "Shampoo and others be to made over and sold to Balkan Sex Trade. Shampoo fight but drugs keep thing fuzzy."
"Ah," said Nabiki. "So the Yakuza is fighting the Triad and both are using the same methods to acquire new merchandise and guinea pigs."
"Is so, Shampoo think," said the girl agreeably. "Boy and older man rescue."
"Yeah, some gal from Interpol contacted us, Chun Li I think was her name," said Ranma from where he had sunken into the tub and was trying to cover up. He eyed the towel that was so tantalizingly out of reach.
"Shampoo get experimented on," said Shampoo, clutching a fist. "Was very bad. Can no go home like this, so follow rescuer."
"What kind of experiment?" asked Nabiki, eyeing the girl's large breasts and wondering if they'd been enhanced.
