Up in space a crystaline meteor was headed for Earth. It was big, powerful, and massive. This meteor would change the face of the world.
It was no ordinary meteor. It was aware, intelligent, and... hungry. It wanted to find a world on which to feed off.
It had searched for decades, and now it found such a world. The blue-green gem hanging in space would feed it's appetites for millions of years. It would absorb from the world all it wanted, then it would erupt and kill the world.
Then it would breed. It's spawn would cover the world. And then they would leave the dead, decaying, dried husk to seak new worlds on which to feed.
Thus, the holy cycle of it's kind would continue. Worlds would feed them, die, and give rise to more of them to feed on more worlds. The cycle would exists for all time without end or pause, until all was done.
Soon this world would join it. Would become a part of it. And then would be sucked dry.
It changed course and went in closer to the planet. The gravity well would capture it and allow it to burrow the planet. And soon, Lavos would have everything it wanted, and would grow more powerful on feeding.
