A couple days after the problem with Mizuki, Sakura's mind kept going back to the second scroll that Naruto had taken from the Hokage's office and what he said was on it.
'I have to put that out of my mind,' Sakura thought with a shake of her head.
She frowned and another Sakura appeared. She wanted to see how long she could maintain the Kage Bunshin and had been doing something like this for the past two days. So she had her duplicate read a book, while she did some other work. About thirty minutes later, the shadow clone vanished. Sakura breathed hard for a bit, as a look of confusion went across her face.
'How do I know what was in that book?' Sakura thought, and she went over and picked the book up.
Sakura quickly found the place where the shadow clone was and shook her head.
'This must be some sort of ability of the Kage Bunshin technique.'
Sakura left her home and headed for the Hokage's office.
'Now I have a reason to talk to the Hokage,' Sakura thought. 'I hope he'll se me.'
The pink haired girl quickly made her way to the Hokage's tower. She hesitated, as she looked at the door.
"Maybe I should come back later," Sakura muttered.
Before she could say anything, the door opened and the Hokage walked out.
"Sakura? I have been waiting for you to come," the Hokage said.
"You knew I was going to come?" Sakura asked.
"Of course. I knew that Naruto taught you the Kage Bunshin, but he didn't tell you all the abilities of it."
Seeing that Sakura was still in a bit of shock, Sarutobi shook his head and continued.
"I was keeping an eye on that entire situation with Mizuki. I also agree with Naruto on your skills."
The Hokage showed Sakura to a desk that had a scroll unrolled on it. He motioned for Sakura to sit at the chair in front of the desk. Sakura did so, and saw the scroll that Mizuki tried to have her steal.
"I ask that you don't teach Naruto the exploding clone technique for quite a while. He can create a lot of clones and would put too many people at risk."
Sakura just nodded and read the scroll and found the information about how knowledge is transferred to the creator of a Kage Bunshin if the shadow clone is destroyed.
"I don't think Naruto knows about this ability of the Kage Bunshin," Sakura muttered.
"What ability?"
"The information being transmitted to the person after being dispelled."
"That you can tell him," the Hokage said.
Sakura nodded and bit her lower lip, as she read all the abilities of the Kage Bunshin and the variations on it. She memorized the techniques and rolled the scroll up. She looked around and frowned.
"Something the matter?" Sarutobi asked kindly.
"That other scroll Naruto took.... Is it true?"
"The other scroll?" Sarutobi asked, as picked up another scroll. "I have no idea, I have never read it."
The Hokage unrolled the scroll and read through it. He shook his head and looked at Sakura.
"Sasuke Uchiha? You want to know if your feelings are true or are being manipulated. To answer one question, the Uchiha line is the one that holds the Sharingan. The Hyuuga line holds the Byakugan. I'm not sure who some of the other eye based bloodline limit families are. The only thing I can say is this: What does you heart tell you?"
Sakura looked away from the Hokage. The Hokage chuckled and rolled the scroll up and started chuckling.
"I now have something else I can use to keep those two clans in check. I did not know about this," the Hokage said, and placed the scroll with some scrolls that had black seals on them. "Do keep quiet about that."
"Hokage? How did the bloodline limits get started?" Sakura asked, as she nodded at the Hokage's request.
The Hokage opened his mouth to answer and then closed it and shook his head.
"That is actually a very good question. I have no idea."
"Why is Naruto able to create so many Kage Bunshin?"
The Hokage looked pained, as he stared out at the Hokage monument.
"I could tell you, but that is Naruto's choice on whether or not to let you know now," the Hokage said softly. "Naruto also has some other secrets he is keeping. If he trusts you with them, understand that all of them are S ranked secrets. You can't tell anyone who does not know them."
Sarutobi sighed, as he looked at the scroll he had just read. "I wish I could tell you of some way to shield from that effect of eye based blood limits, but I did not know of what the First Hokage had written about it. Do not blame Sasuke for this, it is not under his control. It is subconscious, like breathing. If you are wondering, Naruto does not have an eye based blood limit, so that will not apply to him."
"But girls who have eye based blood limits will be drawn to him," Sakura noted.
"Do you really think the Hyuuga clan will let one of their own even date Naruto? His status as the village pariah protects him from that," The Hokage replied with pain in his voice and then shook his head. "The teams will be announced this afternoon. Since you and Naruto worked together already, the two of you will be on the same team."
Sakura nodded absently at that and quietly left. The Hokage shook his head and glanced at the scroll talking about eye based bloodline limit families.
"She'll hurt for a time, but she will be stronger for it. Team 7 looks like it is shaping into something other than Team Sharingan. Kakashi has been waiting to train Sasuke and might be negligent in training others. I wonder how he's going to take Sakura and Naruto. I know Naruto held back, but I wonder how much. A stork summons?"
The Hokage shook his head and chuckled at the antics of the most unpredictable ninja of Konoha.
