MND: A Tendo View to the Craziness [Episode 205046]

by HistorianoftheKais

Nabiki groggily woke up on the family room couch due to the smell of a fresh pot of coffee reaching her. Pausing for a moment to work the cricks out of her neck, Nabiki wondered for a moment about why she was sleeping on the couch instead of in her comfortable bed. Once the memories started coming back to Nabiki her face went into a scowl. It was all because of her father and Mister Saotome that she had been forced to have such an uncomfortable night’s sleep.

Those two had done the stupidest thing that Nabiki had ever seen in Nerima since the Saotomes had first arrived in the ward: they had bought something from the discount magic store. Now Nabiki knew that magic items, particularly the cursed kind, tended to cross her family’s path more often then she would like. However, the item that her father and Mister Saotome had bought took the cake hands down as the most troublesome magical item ever. What was this troublesome magical item? Why nothing more then a magical statue of a Polynesian fertility god.

Now Nabiki, due to working at the library on her homework, didn’t know what had happened with that magical statue, but Kasumi had given her a brief synopsis. From what Nabiki could figure out from Kasumi’s explanations, Ranma had a new fiancée name Michiru show up due to an agreement that her parents and Mister Saotome had. Kodachi showed up shortly afterward and attacked Michiru. Ranma had then jumped in and defended Michiru from Kodachi’s attacks. The fight had driven Ranma and Michiru into the kitchen where Soun and Genma were performing a magical rite to unite the two houses. Somehow in the resulting confusion Ranma and Michiru accidentally completed the rite and had ended up married.

Nabiki, who was now walking towards the kitchen and that divine coffee, wasn’t sure what she should make out of this newest complication in Ranma’s life. While it was true that she liked Ranma about as much as she liked going to the dentist, she didn’t hate him either. Usually, Nabiki would just charge the people at school money if they wanted to hear about Ranma’s latest misadventures and that would be the end of her involvement in the affair. However, this time things were different and Nabiki wasn’t just thinking about the results.

Michiru Kaioh, as Nabiki knew thanks to her studies, was the daughter of one of the richer families of Japan. The Kaiohs were not one of the richest families in Japan, but still they had more money then 90% of the families in Japan. That Genma could manage to get a marriage agreement with the Kaiohs impressed Nabiki. Sadly for Genma’s standing in Nabiki’s mind, the fact that the fool had forgotten about the arrangement destroyed any previous gains.

What this all meant was that Ranma was now in with some very powerful people and by powerful Nabiki meant lawyers. If another misadventure occurred due to the Nerima Nuts acting in their usual manner, the Kaioh lawyers would swarm all over the ward. Personally Nabiki really didn’t care if the whole lot of the Nerima Nuts ended up in court, but she didn’t want to chance getting dragged into that mess. Maybe she should just help Ranma and his new wife leave the ward and then wash her hands of the chaos that is Ranma Saotome.
