The members of Midnight Musume were eventually regurgitated, but they were now wearing different clothing. The 'armor' was thin red wire-like structures that followed the contours of their bodies.
Other than the 'wires' - they weren't wearing anything at all.
"YOU GUYS BETTER STOP FILMING THIS!" shouted Asuka.
"WAAAAAAAAAA!" wailed Kaori. "THIS ISN'T THE KIND OF FRIENDS I MEANT!"
Sailor Moon ducked back down with her friends. "The monsters here are kind of ecchi."
"They're using the ones they captured as human shields," guessed Mercury. "We'll have to defeat THEM in order to get to the other enemies."
"It's Midnight Musume," pointed out Mars. "We have to defeat Midnight Musume? And that'll take all of five minutes?"
"You're being generous," said Sailor Jupiter.
"Well, yeah, I was allowing for extra time trying to avoid hurting them," clarified Sailor Mars.
"I wonder what would happen if I hit one of those wires with a Crescent Beam?" asked Venus.
"There's a lot of flesh showing, if you miss - it'd hurt," pointed out Jupiter. "You might shoot something off they'll need later."
"They still don't have any superpowers," said Mars.
"Actually they do," said Mercury.
"Excuse me?" asked Mars.
"They were chosen mainly for appearance and singing voice, but each of them has magic or a talent," said Mercury, tapping at her computer. "It's just that their powers aren't, well..."
"They aren't very impressive," said Venus. "I auditioned for them, remember? Maki there has the magical ability to fall asleep whenever she wants to."
Mars considered that. "You're right. That's not very useful."
"It looks like she's using that power right now," said Jupiter. "It's like they're marionettes or something, with the armor providing the strings that move them."
"What other kind of powers would we be facing? Anything that's more... formidable?" asked Jupiter.
"Kaori's power is emotion-scent, whatever she's feeling comes out as a smell," said Mercury, reading a file. "Asuka's power is that she can pilot just about any sort of vehicle, but it takes five minutes for her power to activate. Ai's superpower is that she can bend the path of a stream of water. Rika can get drunk off of any sort of sugary drink."
"I really see why they get into the trouble they do," said Jupiter. "I'm really beginning to feel sorry for them."
"That would be Maki's power - she can inspire sympathy in anyone capable of feeling it," said Mercury.
"That one isn't quite so useless," said Mars.
"That one is commonly accepted as to why they usually end up in bondage situations or captured by even pretty bloodthirsty enemies," continued to read Mercury.
