She also had a problem with something called 'restraint'. Now, this wasn't always an awful thing, as she was unabashedly affectionate with her close companions. However, she was also unhesitating in her willingness to show such emotions, and tended to jump to smother others with her love. Then there was the fact that she had a habit of over doing her responses to stimuli, like sending off a dozen blaster shots to hit one possible threat. This was also the woman who could not manage to land her ship without creating a mini-tsunami in the process.
None of this was revealed to Genma, but then he might have understood it if someone had told him. Then he could at least have muttered words about the overeagerness of women, considering the fact that his son had managed to find all these girls. The boy had gone from only dealing with the softer gender in passing to have a whole mob of them all clamoring for his attention. As it was, he was not having to come up with reasons to consider the... 'expansion' of their group as a hassle, since he could already see the food and clothing bills going sky high. Fortunately, it did seem that they would be bringing some benefits along with the trouble, not that he could see why there were so many of them.
He had no way of knowing, but Mihoshi had gotten enthusiastic, and gone with the simple expedient of adding as many girls as had seemed likely to be involved with Ranma. Naturally, many of them were understandably brought into the fold, but many of them weren't exactly clear contenders for his hand. Truth was that a lot of them wouldn't have even met him if not for her interference, and were now gazing at him in unabashed devotion.
That was why Genma was currently looking out over a group of girls that was rather varied. Some, like the pair of Yuka and Sayuri didn't look like they would be help in the Art, which made sense since they were 'support units'. Age didn't seem to be exactly a block either, since Hinako was included. Then there were the 'units' like Link and Pink, which were apparently a pair of complimentary talents, and Azusa, who for a 'recon type', made for a lot of ruckus. And there was much staring to do at Kiima and her wings, even if she was an 'ariel combat unit'.
The count of them didn't even stop there. Of course, he wasn't exactly clear as to what he should make of all these girls. Sure, the martial artists were all possible sparring candidates for his son, but he couldn't figure out what they were going to do with the rest. Not only was this messing up the whole concept of going on a journey to isolate his son from 'distractions' from training, but it'd mean that he'd have to work to get around the messes this would likely cause.
Not that it didn't seem that the boy wasn't already benefiting from this in one way.
"Here you go," Kasumi said, holding out a glass to the pigtailed boy. "I think that you will like it."
Ranma took the drink of iced tea and stared at it. "Thanks...."
"Just happy to be of help."
Brows furrowed, Genma watched the exchange, and knew that this could be the start of something, while:
