Walking over to Six who was still in dragon form, Ranma petted her along the neck. She'd actually been fairly nice so far, so this little trip had been partially to reward her. Maybe if he gave Six the weekend so they could do something of her choice it might relax the two dragons a bit.
To Ranma's surprise, Jane rapidly returned to dragon form without complaint and had sidled up beside him. "My Lord, I must insist, it's my turn to be ridden this time."
Luckily missing the innuendo as Jane was in dragon form at the moment, Ranma was still hesitant to hop aboard. While it was surprising that Jane wasn't upset with the little demonstration from earlier, he wouldn't be surprised if she didn't try to get some measure of at least petty revenge. Her dumping him into the ocean wouldn't really be surprising at this point.
Mentally shrugging, the young man hopped up to take a seat at the base of Jane's neck.
Despite Ranma's concerns about Jane pulling a prank, she instead just proved to provide a slightly more extreme flight as Jane banked more aggressively than the other.
He did have a clue that something was up when their landing site turned out to be a flat roof near the Cat Cafe. "Uhm, what are we doing here?"
Taking human form already, Jane took on an air of mischievous innocence in the face of his questioning tone. "They serve food here do they not? Are you not pleased with them?"
Giving a glance at Jane, Ranma had a sneaking suspicion that Jane might have already been here.
Senses tickled, Cologne glanced up in time to spy Ranma entering her place with what was presumably his new wives.
This was the first time she'd seen Ranma since the aftermath of the failed wedding with the Tendou girl, so Cologne took note of the nicer clothes he was wearing and his overall healthier look. There was a touch of dragon spirit to his aura, but that was likely the effect of being 'married' to two dragons.
The purple haired one that referred to herself only as Jane was attached to his right arm.
The other was of similar dress, build and aura to the one she knew as Jane, so it was simple to deduce that she too was of dragon blood. There had been some clues in the way Jane had mostly used plurals when speaking, but at the time Cologne hadn't been sure that the girl hadn't just being using the plural in a royal way.
There were some differences between the girls aside from their wildly different colorations. Both clung to Ranma in a possessive manner, but whereas Jane was clearly aggressive to the point of making Ranma uncomfortable on purpose, the other was gentle and comforting. Likewise Jane was sporting a superior smirk as if she were showing off a prize, while the new one seemed rather neutral except for frequent attentive glances at Ranma that were occasionally laced with concern.
Guessing by the way they were sharing Ranma, and Jane's earlier usage of an almost royal we, the two likely were used to working as a pair. That didn't bode well, particularly if Shampoo misbehaved despite the lecture she received just a bit earlier.
She wouldn't have to wait long as her descendant was making a beeline for Ranma. Judging by the irate expression the amazon champion was sporting, it would seem that perhaps the lecture had fallen on deaf ears.
Once she was within arms reach of Ranma, Shampoo stopped and glared up at the purple haired dragoness. "What you do with Shampoo's husband?"
Grinning confidently, Jane smoothly replied with little delay as the little amazon wanna-be wasn't worth her effort. "Our husband wishes to have supper. Shall we go elsewhere?"
For a moment Shampoo stood there, still furious at seeing two curvy women clinging to her Ranma. Gritting her teeth in frustration, she finally turned to the side and waved towards a table. "Have seat then, Shampoo bring food."
To Ranma's surprise they sat at a table with little fanfare, and despite Shampoo's foul mood when she brought drinks, Jane was proving to be oddly behaved. Cologne didn't seem to be upset, so Jane couldn't have done anything too bad.
So preoccupied was he, that Jane's question startled him out of his worried thoughts.
"So, how did you choose this one?"
Looking over at Jane, he had to wonder where she kept getting these assumptions from. "I didn't choose anyone. Shampoo is because of some weird rule of their village. I beat her in a fight, but the first time I was in girl form, so she tried to kill me for about two months 'cause they kill women. Then she found out I was a guy and decided we were married and kept trying to force me to go with her."
In Jane's opinion, that summary was lovely in the brutal and simple depiction of the girl, much better than Nabiki's version. "So then, she's dangerous?"
Blinking as he realized just who he was talking to and why he was worried about her being around people that went splat easily, Ranma suddenly felt the urge to pay attention to what he said. "Well, of the four regular girls she attacks me the least. It's mostly just been blackmail and mind-control stuff to get me to go with her since she decided we were married."
Eyes narrowing at a new and very important piece of information, Jane noticed Six protectively edging closer to Ranma. Actual attacks upon him were essentially no more than disrespectful insults as the boy was a fairly strong warrior in his own right. On the other and, mind control and such manipulations on one so naive as Ranma, that was an entirely different matter to the dragons.
Leaving the ramen shop not much later, Ranma was still surprised that there had been no incidents during his entire meal. It had gotten somewhat tense, but Shampoo for whatever reason had stayed away from the table. Cologne had stayed at her perch on the kitchen counter overlooking the dining area, and Ranma didn't see Mousse at all.
It left Ranma with the feeling there something very bad was going to happen with the amazons.
Frowning from her spot overlooking the dining room, the elder regretted not being able to visit Ranma's table to speak with him and the new dragon-girl. Those charges of mind control and blackmail however had poisoned the entire meal. If she had gone over there she likely would have been forced to answer to Jane about the charges and denying or confirming them would likely have been bad.
With luck Shampoo would continue to behave herself and the matter would be forgotten in short order.
