Ranma's Robogirls: Confrontation before the Time Gates [Episode 20551]

The light enveloped the trio, then suddenly it vanished, leaving them in standing in a misty looking coridor.

"Oh no." Rei whispered, the blood draining from her face.

Feeling a presence behind him, Ranma turned and looked at the TechnoOrganic Sailor Pluto who was standing ten feet away from him, in front of an ornate gate.

"I am the guardian of the gate. You didn't think you could get by me so easily, did you?"

"I guess you won't let reach where we were going?" Ranma said calmly.

"The good of Crystal Tokyo is the good of the world. You must not threaten that."

"EEEEEOOOOO. . ."

As Makoto backed into him Ranma diverted enough attention to realise that Usagi was there as well and had just infected Rei. Fortunately she was choosing to 'celebrate' the success rather than push on to take him and Makoto down.

"Why fight the inevitable? I am the guardian of the gate, I know that there can be no other future. Accept it, it is in your best interests."

"My best interests." Ranma said, taking a step forward. "I'd rather live in misery than let someone else decide what my best interests are."

"Foolish and futile." Setsuna shook her head. Ranma heard Makoto collapse, realising that she was the victom of a stealth attack by another TechnoOrganic. "This is what's best for you and you will accept that soon."

Suddenly he felt a stinging sensation at the base of his neck, felt a cachphony of voices begin to rise within his mind.

'If it's destiny, they DESTINY'S ABOUT TO VISIT THE ICU!' Ranma thought gathering all his strength, every iota of will to resist. Suddenly he felt a calmness spread across his mind, as the infection began working to take over his emotions.

All his feelings of despair faded. His fear faded, his anger faded. And the free part of his mind drove his confidence to swell to fill the void before it could be filled with false love and contentment.

Setsuna didn't smile because that was to organic a response. She did however feel pleased that this threat to the future she was duty bound to insure had been delt with. Then her eyes widened as Ranma's aura suddenly blazed like a star.

"Mokou Takabishi. . . Perfected!" A massive wave of power swept forward, slamming into her like a tidal wave.

Moments later Setsuna pulled herself to her feet. Her HUD was screaming allerts but she was confident in the power of her Self Repair functions. Ranma had suprised her at the end, but it had been a futile gesture.

From one side she heard a soft crackling sound. She turned her head, trying to make her circutry dampen down the jagged spikes of fear that were rising.

Across the once smooth surface of the time gate a network of crack had formed, and was expanding, depening, growing larger to a swelling chorus of cracks and snaps.

"no," Setsuna heard herself whisper.

With a great crack, the Time Gate began to come appart, a chaotic rainbow light pouring through each of the fisures before bursting from the shattered rubble like a storm.

Since the time gate had been created in the silver milenium, it had been a tool to stabalise the future. However while it's existance had prevented an untold myriad of time altering paradoxes from manifesting themselves, it could not unmake the force driving them, a force that built up within the gate for the millenia until it was now released, enveloping the entire earth in a great paradox storm who's concequences no one could have known.
