What he had done was shift universes slightly, causing a merger. This happened all the time, as he understood it. Universes shifted back and forth, merging and splitting again. Usually this was just a minor little thing with universes that had teenie tiny differences. The only way people noticed this, was when looking for their car keys and it turned up in someplace they'd already checked a minute ago. There were also the migrating socks, of course, but there were also more sinister explanations at work there.
So the universe was slightly different now from the one that Ranma still remembered, and time had been rewoven. Just a bit. He'd rewound things to the morning before a visit to this little place called Jusenkyo.
Why not? When you've got it, flaunt it.
Of course, he'd kept the "1/2" aspect, it was just now he had a secret identity. Well, mostly secret. After all, not many people knew he was:
