Great Distracted Will/Hero ½: Origin Story. [Episode 20668]

The world wavered and vanished like a flashback as The Great Will of the Universe restarted Ranma's story.   This time around it would not be a martial arts action adventure slash romantic comedy, but rather a dramatisation of those strange gajin manga where super-powered heroes wore underwear on the outside of lycra tracksuits.

Ranma himself would be cast into the role of a teenaged superhero, as desired, but the Great Will had done far more than that.   It was, after all, the Great Will of the Universe, not the Barely Adequate Will.   It had changed the genre of the entire world into a place where superheros could thrive.   It had become a world with a place for costumed adventures, battle suited warriors, inventive gadgeteers, mighty powerhouses, and other paragons of comic book justice.   But it was also a world with a niche for armoured megalomaniacs, mad scientists, and sinister villains, all ready made for the world's superheros to battle.

However, Ranma was not ready to face them, quite then, for the Great Will had also rewound time to his origin story.   Previously that had been a ten-year training voyage capped with a fateful dunking in a certain cursed spring.   This time around, things would turn out to be somewhat different.

“This is different,” Ranma observed as the last of his nigh-omniscience faded away.   Memories of his former self remained, but they were added to the memories of his new life.   Thus he was not entirely surprised to find himself confronted by the revised image of his father.   Yet it was still both familiar and disconcertingly novel to view his father in something other than his battered white gi.

• Genma was wearing the business suit of an ordinary salaryman preparing to leave for his respectable nine-to-five office job.
• Genma wore a red and white bodysuit with the emblem of a chesspiece on his manly chest, the costume of Commander Darkhorse, Japan's number one superhero.
• Genma was wearing a black and white striped shirt, beret, and mask and handed Ranma a sack clearly marked 'SWAG'.
• Genma was wearing 'hero support inc.' coveralls while working on a suit of power armor in the true hero's secret headquarters.
• Genma wore a lab coat and was cackling maniacally as he dangled Ranma over a vat of toxic waste.
• Option 6.
