"You're mine, Booby Bombs!" he shouted and lifted the crowbar for a swing that would cave her head in where she was kneeling on the ground next to her boy toy.
What happened next was terrifying. Ranma's gaze snapped over to the crowbar-wielding boy, instantly processing what was happening as his father's words echoed through his mind.
"There may come a time when you are faced with an enemy you may have to kill in order to protect yourself and others, Ranma," Genma said softly. "If that time comes, I don't want you to hesitate."
Ranma's body burst into a furious blue aura.
Kokin also reacted instantly, throwing himself on top of Hakufu and knocking her flat to the ground.
"Mouko Takabisha!" Ranma shouted and fired a blinding, golden ball of energy at his cousin's attacker.
Hanno had frozen when he saw Ranma's aura and was caught completely off guard when the ki blast hit him dead on. His chest exploded in pain as his shirt disintegrated under the force of the blast that hit him. He was thrown backwards to violently slam into a stack of cars before he collapsed to the ground with several broken ribs and his torso covered with serious and painful burns.
"What the hell was that?" one of the goon squad shouted.
"Hell if I know! Let's get out of here!" another cried fearfully.
"No shit! No way I'm messing with someone that can do that!" a third agreed as the whole lot ran like the hounds of hell were snapping at their heels.
"You guys okay?" Ranma called over to his cousins.
"Um...yeah," Kokin said, in awe of his younger cousin.
"That was awesome, Ma-chan!" Hakufu gushed happily. "How did you do that?"
"It was just a ki blast," Ranma replied, scratching the base of his pigtail. "Sorry 'bout that. There wasn't time to do anything else. I don't like using my higher level techniques on weak guys like that but he didn't give me a choice. Kokin, could you check on him?"
"Uh, yeah, sure," Kokin said getting to his feet and moving over to where Hanno lay in a heap.
Ranma knelt down beside Taishiji and rolled him over on his back before slapping his face lightly to bring him around.
"Yo, big guy, you okay?" Ranma asked solicitously as the large boy began to groan.
"Ugh...what hit me?" Taishiji moaned as he crossed his arms over his aching torso.
"That'd be the Kachuu Tenshin Amaguriken," Ranma chuckled, "a technique that had the emperors of China quaking in their boots for thousands of years. You gonna be okay?"
"I'll live," Taishiji said, sitting up. "That was some technique. How many times did you hit me, anyway?"
"About six hundred times, give or take," Ranma grinned briefly before his face took on a more serious look. "Kokin, how's the other one?"
"He's alive but it looks like he's hurt pretty badly," Kokin replied, drawing Taishiji's gaze over to Hanno's battered form.
"What happened?" Taishiji asked.
"Sorry about your friend there," Ranma said apologetically. "He ain't as honorable as you, apparently. He used our fight as a distraction to sneak up behind Fu-chan and try to cave her head in with a crowbar. I had to take him out with a ki blast."
"A ki blast?" Taishiji blinked.
"Yeah," Ranma nodded, standing up and offering his hand to the larger boy to help him up. "I don't normally use them on people that aren't close to my level, but I didn't have time for anything else."
Taishiji took the offered hand and allowed himself to be pulled to his feet.
"The others ran away when I took that guy out," Ranma continued. "You think you'll be okay to call an ambulance for your friend?"
"I should be," the larger boy nodded.
"Great," Ranma grinned. "That was fun. Maybe we can spar again sometime?"
"Um...right," Taishiji sweat-dropped. "Sure."
"Cool," Ranma said. "I'm going to get my cousins home now. See ya around."
Taishiji nodded dumbly at the pigtailed fighter as he went to collect his cousins.
