Setsuna's Fault: When Going Back, Be Prepared [Episode 208010]

by Inverted Helix

"What? You didn't think I went on a journey of unknown length with no supplies did you?" Ranma replied at the incredulous glances of the Senshi. "After last time I knew I couldn't prevent myself from being cursed, so I figured I'd go back in time to the creation of Jusenkyo and learn the techniques from whoever made it."

"I've never known you to think things through that well before." Setsuna admitted.

"What do you mean? I've never met you before today." Ranma didn't really like the sound of this, especially when she had already admitted to tampering with time.

Setsuna wasn't at her best and covered her mistake by reaching into the pouch and pulling out a piece of bread. "I haven't seen this in ages, it's actual lembas. A person might eat this their entire life with no ill effects on their health it's so nutritious."

Ami wasn't the type to be thrown off so easily, but trusted Setsuna enough to follow her lead in changing the subject. "Really, is it something from the Silver Millennium then?"

"Actually it's even older than that, it was originally made by the elves before they disappeared, but it was still fairly common during the Silver Millennium even if a bit expensive. It's a type of traveler food imbued with a small amount of magic to make it longer lasting and more filling than its size and weight would suggest." Setsuna didn't visibly sigh with relief as the previous subject seemed forgotten.

"With food and air we might survive a bit longer, but to be honest I expected to at least have water available," Ranma shrugged, his reference to the molten landscape, devoid of any signs of water ever having existed, obvious.

"Mercury can produce water easily enough," Setsuna replied.

"Exnay on the senshiay," Minako unsubtly responded.

"Ranma may have some minor brain damage, but he's going to figure it out, and who is he going to tell anyway." Setsuna had given up on trying to keep Ranma away from the Senshi; 10,000 years may be a long time to become stubborn, but being thrown four billion years into the past was a powerful incentive to reevaluate priorities.

"Okay so that's food, water, and air... never thought I'd need to add that one to my list of necessities for survival, I mean it's just always been... there, you know?" Ranma pondered aloud. "We also need shelter; then we can start figuring out how to move forward."
