Setsuna realized her mistake as the Gates Of Time cracked and caused cracks to appear in the Time Key Staff. The Key shattered then, followed by her being tumbled through time and space. Setsuna tried to reach out with the link she had to the Senshi, to warn them of what was coming. A pigtailed boy slammed into her with enough force to stun her. She grabbed on instinctively.
Images of the ancient kingdoms of the Silver Millenium passed her by. Setsuna’s mind’s eye blurred as her memories shot past images of the ancient kingdom, and those images began changing. It looked like things were royally messed up.
“So where did she come from?” Setsuna heard as she drifted back to consciousness.
“That’s what I want to know,” a male voice responded. “It looks like she made an uncontrolled jaunt and used my aura as a landing beacon.”
“Which is something you’re supposed to block. So much for ‘keep your guard up at all times,’” snickered a second female voice. It was Rei, Setsuna thought. She was beginning to place their identities, but was having difficulty following the topic.
“She’s got a fairly strong aura reading,” Ami stated, “but I can’t place her element codes. There are no clan tattoos, or slave brands, so she could be a recent manifest, but other than suffering from explosive decompression she seems too healthy for a peasant.”
“So where did she come from?” Ranma echoed the demand.
“Well, without clothes there’s no other way to identify her,” Setsuna heard Ami point out. That at least seemed reasonable… wait… without what?
“I suppose she could be a late developer, disowned by her clan and had her childhood clan marks erased?” Rei suggested.
“Nah, she would at least have been given to a minion in hopes of improving his bloodline, married or enslaved,” Ranma said. “Even a skip can still pass the gift on to her kids, you know.”
“There are some clan lords who can’t admit they’d sire anything but a talented child,” Ami pointed out coldly.
“Yeah, but those creeps wouldn’t let the evidence walk free,” Ranma growled. “No, there’s only one reason to remove clan marks.”
“Yes, it is obvious!” accused a cold, young voice. “She’s an assassin sent by the Tendo clan. We should just kill her now! … Please?”
“Ah, no need to bare your fangs, little hound,” Ranma chided fondly, and Setsuna heard ruffled hair. “Put away that blade, Hotchan. There are not that many assassins who attack nude and just knock themselves out. Feh, at least, not any good ones.”
“It’s a trick,” Hotaru insisted.
“Ahem, I suspect you are right, Master,” Ami interjected. “You’ve captured a runaway. So, you should enslave her right away!”
Ranma snorted, “as if I don’t have enough trouble on my hands, without some jerk wanting his bitch back!”
“She’s a young woman with a strong aura and no clan claims, caught fair and square trespassing,” Ami observed. “You’re well within your rights to claim her, and if you don’t someone of strength will.”
“That’s probably what she was after,” Rei snorted, “jaunting in here to flaunt her assets and gain status as your slave.”
“I don’t really think…” Ranma began to defend her.
“No, you don’t think,” Rei accused. “She pressed her naked body up against you and held you oh, so, tight, and you stopped thinking with your brain!”
“Meh, so she’s got a good bo- ah, a good aura, but I’m not stupid.” Ranma snorted. “I’m not falling for it. She’s trouble.”
“Well, what else are you going to do with her?” Ami demanded.
“Oh, I know!” Hotaru said eagerly.
Ignoring the murderous cutie, Rei suggested brightly, “you could give her to your father as a present.”
“Hmm,” Ranma considered. “Sure, why not? Let him deal with her baggage. That seems fair enough.”
