Ranma picked herself up as she noticed the remaining robots coming her way. While it did appear they showed up to protect everyone from the other robots it wouldn’t hurt to err side of caution. She had enough experiences with things like that after all.
Jetfire moved to meet the new transformer. Thankfully she had shown up, otherwise he might have had some problems. Thrust had proven to be a bit more trickier than he had thought, though nothing he couldn’t handle.
As he approached the girl he had to admit, she was pretty big. Probably about as large as Optimus and he was power linked. Still it wasn’t everyday you got to meet a female transformer. How would Optimus do this? Ah that’s it!
“Heh, thanks for the save back there. Not that I couldn’t have handled it myself, but I’m never one to turn down help. The names Jetfire 2nd in command of the Autobots. What’s your name friend?” He would have smiled if he could, course that’s the problem when your mouth’s covered. Still he believed he made a good impression.
Ranma found herself slightly at a loss; it had been a while since someone had just asked for her name without wanting a fight. Hesitantly she answered “I’m Ranma, I guess.”
Odd, it seemed as if this Ranma wasn't quite sure of herself. Maybe she had recently came on-line? It would explain why she had been a bit shaky in the fight. Still he wasn't going to turn down a new member in the Autobots because she was young. “Well it's good to meet you Ranma. Not much better than meeting new friends after kicking Decepticreep tail pipes.” Extending his hand in greeting he sent a message to Red Alert to prepare the space bridge for transport. “Just grab my hand and we can bring you back to the base with us.”
“Uhh, sure.” Not quite sure what to make of it Ranma took his hand. It would probably be best to go with these guys. She could hopefully find out just what was going out. A few seconds after grabbing his hand she felt a strange pulling sensation, as if she was being pulled apart piece by piece.
Then suddenly she found herself in a large steel room surrounded by the robots that had come to protect the airport. She guess this was the robots base, of course knowing her luck she had just walked into a trap, but something told her to trust these people. Her instincts hadn't been wrong today so it was probably a good idea to trust them.
“All present and accounted sir.” Announced Jetfire as Optimus moved into the bridge room, the kids following after him. No doubt they wanted to hear about his exploits on the battle field. “With one new member as well. Her names Ranma and from the looks of it she's even greener than Hotshot.”
“Hey!” Came an annoyed call from the yellow robot. Ranma was slightly annoyed at the green comment, but she did become a robot today. Still it did look like she would learn a few new techniques. She felt her hands twitch in anticipation.
“Wow check out the new guy! He's huge!” Exclaimed one of the children who had followed the red robot in. For some reason Ranma felt herself annoyed at the comment. It felt like what being called a girl used to feel like.
“Hey you're right Carlos, Nice to meet you big guy. I'm Rad, this is Carlos.” He motioned to the kid who had first called her a boy, then motioning behind him “and this is Alexis.”
“Ahh kids, it's a bit rude to call our newest female member a guy.” Corrected Jetfire. Making sure that the female in the sentence was unmistakeable.
Ranma had to suppress a slight giggle as she saw the looks on the kid’s faces. It was as if their world had just been flipped, turned upside down.
The Red robot moved up to her as he extended his hand in greeting. “Well it's nice to meet you. I'm Optimus Prime, and I welcome you to our base friend. Sorry about the children's mix-up they're still fairly new to transformers.”
Taking his hand and shaking it in a friendly gesture Ranma replied “I'm Ranma, and don't worry about the mix-up it's happened to me a few times before.” She had to admit it was a very odd feeling to be looking down on everyone while being female. Of course it was one she could get used to.
“So, when can we meet our new mini-con friend?” Carlos asked happily to Ranma.
“Mini-con? What's that?” She replied. Was he referring to what she was before joining with the plane? That didn't sound right. She was the same as before, wasn't she?
“I'm not too sure what you call them back where you're from, but their little robots which jump onto you when you transform giving you're power a boost. It's sort of our job to make sure no one uses them against their will.” Explained Jetfire sounding a bit put off.
“I don't think I have that. As far as I can tell anyway.” While it did sound a bit like what she did, from what she could figure the mini-con wasn't in control. Maybe he got it wrong?
“Look here, were not going to take the mini-con for keeps. We just want him to mingle with his friends. If he decides he would rather stick with you then that's fine. Besides I saw the mini-con run into the hangar you were in.” It was obvious he was getting annoyed.
“Umm, that was me that ran into the hangar.” Upon seeing the confused and blank faces, Ranma figured it would probably be best if she gave a demonstration. Hopefully this would work.
“Transform.” Almost instantly she found her vision momentarily black out again as she found herself quickly falling into the cockpit of the jet she had been a part of moments ago. Once the transformation was complete she jumped out of the cockpit and landed on the floor as she returned to her human form.
Looking around it was obvious this wasn't what they expected. Everyone was in a state of shock or awe. Chuckling slightly as she rubbed the back of her neck. “I'm guessing this isn't what normally happens.”
