It took Ranma all of fifteen seconds to react. "Another one?!"
"That was the general idea."
"But I only had ta put in somethin' ta get Rei. And now you're just givin' me two more?"
"You have a problem with this? Many boys don't get to even buy one slave, never mind be given them. Which doesn't include that you are getting two for free," she drawled, letting one side of her mouth curve up in a mocking gesture.
"Well, I guess that you're right on that...."
"Trust me. I know what I'm doing."
"Why doesn't that fill me with confidence," the pigtailed boy muttered, glancing warily at the woman.
"I don't see why. This is a fairly simple and straightforward situation."
"Which could blow up in my face real easy."
"Don't worry about it," the scientist told him, and patted his shoulder. "I'm sure that you can handle it."
"Really?"
"Why would we give you slaves like this if we didn't believe that there would be some sort of good that would come from them being with you?"
He scratched his nose and blushed slightly. "Maybe ya got a real good point there."
"See?"
"Could be a great one."
"Let's not get carried away," she admonished, and looked up at where his third slave was resting in a tube. "You're doing well enough with getting three slaves as it is."
"Gotcha. There anythin' else that I'd need ta know?"
"I would think so."
"Yeah. Like what?"
"Your newest slave's name."
"Oh. Right."
Ritsuko stifled a giggle at his expense, and shook her head, even as she admitted that he would recognize his new slave, seeing as soon enough he would be meeting:
