After a week, Ranma went back to normal as the manhood pills apparently wore off.
Like the previous magic, the expired virility medicine would have its true influence on Ranma during puberty. The mixing of magics would ensure that by junior high, Ranma was not a normal boy anymore.
Although his impending enhanced puberty was soon, Ranma was still a relatively innocent boy for the moment.
He was not however, entirely innocent anymore. The deaths of the cats and his father’s non-reaction to their senseless sacrifice had given him an interest in what could be learned at a temple or shrine besides martial arts. Not that there was anything in particular he could do for all those cats, but spending most a week in a pit of dead cats had made him more aware of such things.
It had also triggered another wonderful stage of growing up. That wonderful part of his life when he stopped implicitly trusting adults and instead became more skeptical of what they said. While many adults lied to children, sometimes innocently, Genma was an excellent example of an adult that couldn’t be trusted.
That was only the start however, Ranma still had a tendency to bounce happily along with the flow. Only sometimes would Ranma question what his father was doing after the fact, although as time went on, he would become skeptical more quickly, eventually instantly distrusting anything Genma said until proven otherwise.
Ranma would have more pressing concerns however as puberty lurked around the corner, waiting to ambush him before he entered junior high.
For the moment however, Ranma was pondering how far he could toss his father and what that had to do with trusting him. Not very much he supposed.
Still, there was the question of just how puberty would hit Ranma.
