Naruto was happily munching away at his popcorn, watching Sasori (inside of his Haruko puppet) fight some idiot with glasses and a Chinese girl with purple hair. Also, there was some old lady about the size of a garden gnome trying to figure out how to fight the puppeteer.
That's when another Planeswalker showed up. Naruto turned to greet him.
"Greetings, Tenchi. What brings you here?"
"Er... why are you being so polite?"
"You are my equal... at least, for now."
"Naruto, you know why I'm here. I want Ryoko back!"
"And what will I get in return? Or do you plan on recovering her by force?"
Tenchi sighed. "I'd like to get her back by peaceful means. Why did you convert her to a card, anyway?"
"She attacked me after I made a snide comment. So I fought back. And won. I figured that her power would be an asset to my deck, so I captured her into a card. If you wish to trade, I'll want something of equal or greater value."
"Would any of these work?" Tenchi held up a number of small, spherical gems.
"Um... no. Not even all of them together are worth the girl."
Tenchi was downcast. "Looks like I'll have to take them by force."
"Not really," replied the blond. "We could have a friendly bout and wager. I'll bet Ryoko against... Ryo-Ohki. We shouldn't be keeping the two apart, after all."
"That's... true," sighed the black-haired youth. "But we can't use what's being wagered in the fight."
"Agreed. But let's have them watch," said the ninja as he pulled Ryoko's card out.
He unleashed her and she tried to attack her Master.
"Stop."
She stopped. She didn't want to. She wanted to smear the blond's innards all over the galaxy. She wanted to vaporize whatever was left. She wanted to cut him up into little tiny pieces. But she just couldn't. She had to obey Naruto's commands.
Then she saw Tenchi. She swooned.
"Give him a hug if you must," said the shinobi.
"TENCHI!!" Tears were coming out of her eyes as she bowled the Juraian Planeswalker over in a glomp/tackle/hug.
"I've missed you too, Ryoko," he replied softly. Though he could feel her squeezing hard enough to cut off his breathing and circulation, his body no longer had those things hampering his abilities.
Ryoko finally composed herself and got up and helped Tenchi to his feet.
"You've come to save me?"
"Yes, or allow you and Ryo-Ohki to be together. I've bet her against you. Whoever wins this fight gets both."
Tenchi unleashed the cabbit from one of his small gems, and the cute little creature was positively ecstatic to see her partner, Ryoko. She leapt into the woman's arms and nuzzled her face.
"I've missed you too, Ryo-Ohki!"
Naruto, who had remained silent throughout the whole exchange, cleared his throat.
"Oh, right. Sorry," muttered Tenchi.
Naruto shrugged, not allowing any emotion to show despite the turmoil he felt inside. He never had anyone act like that towards him, really.
"So," began the ninja. "Where should we fight? Masaki Shrine? Wave Country? Or some neutral ground, like the Sahara?"
"The Northern end of Greenland would be good."
"Alright. Let's go there."
Sasori was certainly having fun. These martial artists were strong, especially the old crone who was three feet tall with a six-foot walking stick. The bespectacled boy was interesting, especially the way that he kept pulling a large number of weaponry out of his robes. And the violette was certainly strong. Those maces of hers were really heavy, despite being so obnoxiously colored. All-in-all, the puppeteer didn't even need to bring out any more of his puppets. Haruko was enough.
In another part of Nerima, Ranma had a sinking feeling in his gut that something was wrong. He looked at a clock - 3:43 PM. Shampoo normally landed her Bicycle of Doom on his head at 3:41 every school day. Either she was late or she was in trouble. In both cases he needed to find out what was going on.
