A Gathering of Sparks: Finally, the Match underway [Episode 211616]

by Eternal Heart

With a glowering stare, the blonde young woman looked at Ranma with unshed tears glistening in her eyes, “How can you be so mean?!”

“How can you be such a broken record?” the words countered back as he would glare down at the fallen girl, “You don’t get to be a silly little school girl with her carefree daydreams little rabbit.”

He stepped forward, and in an instant, the world changed around them, suddenly a bustling Japanese street, teaming with people moving, pushing against their bodies as they kept on, seemingly unaware their presence, “You don’t get to be one of them anymore, you don’t get to be keep walking on in ignorant peace.”

Again, there was a shift, and this time, they found in a mist shrouded valley, the air heavy and cool against the skin as their clothes grew damp, clinging to their skin, “You don’t even get to hide, because, no matter where you go, eventually another spark will find you.”

He glared down at her again before once more they were back, next to that bridge as the water glistened lightly, serenely as if nothing had happened, “You aren’t going to age, you aren’t going to die as long as your spark burns in your soul.”

“But, you can be hurt,” the words were whispered in a cold, haunted whisper as for a moment his eyes drifted to the stream, even as her friends loomed over her with dark expressions written on their faces, “And the longer you refuse to grow up, the easier it is to hurt you.”

Her friends grabbed hold of her, pulling her up to her feet, their fingers digging into her flesh again before almost pushing her away as they moved a distance from the two, and stood silent and immobile. The girl stared at them, those tears only growing in her eyes with each passing moment, not wanting to believe what she was seeing before she glanced uncertainly back at Ranma, “Why are you doing this, why?!”

“Because, you have to learn,” He summoned forth a group of cards to his hand even as he glared back at her, “Now, summon your spectators and we’ll begin.”

She took a deep, shuddering breath, steadying herself before throwing the gems still clenched in her fist to the ground, next to where her friends under Ranma’s control stood, “Fine! I’m not going to let you push me around anymore; I’m not going to let you take my friends.”

In a flash, five more female figures joined the other four, leaving nine figures to watch what was unfurling, some in grim silence, others in wide eyed bewilderment. Eyes narrowed, cold, Ranma would set his lips firmly one against the other before crossing his arms about his chest, “Then begin little rabbit. And we’ll see if you have that strength.”

Anger building up behind her eyes, Usagi summoned up an oddly hued crystal, mingling between crimson and pink before she threw it down, “Moon, Goblin, power!”

And in a flash, suddenly a green skinned figure appeared, its body hunched forward slightly and scrawny in appearance. Yellowed eyes stared balefully towards Ranma over the curve of its bulbous nose, sending a shiver down the man’s back. Not of fear, not of worry, but of pure simple revulsion as he looked at the goblin dressed in a pink skirted semblance of a Sailor Senshi uniform. Raising its pink metal club up, pointing it towards Ranma, a shrill, nasal voice declared, “En nome uf daz Moon, me ez gunna puniz uw!”

Lifting his gaze up towards Usagi, the young looking man sent a cold burning glare towards her, “I. Hate. You.”

With that, he flicked his wrist, sending out a card and summoning…
