The cookies most certainly did not look back.
And they didn't move, either. Really. Truly.
Ranma looked around, hoping for some excuse that would let him get away from here. The only thing even remotely interesting-looking was a rather strange-looking pair of people that seemed to be looking in their direction. Well, the cute young woman's dress actually wasn't all that strange, but the man's all-red outfit, not to mention the pointed hat -
And the sword. Ranma blinked. Oh, probably just another Martial Artist of some kind or another, then. Gotcha.
Well, no hope of deliverance from that direction, anyhow - neither of the strange people looked like they were interesting in picking a fight with him at that particular moment in time, after all.
"...Ranma. This batch is really all right. See?"
Akane popped a cookie in her mouth, biting off a chocolate-covered corner.
"Well, I know they're still not as good as Oneechan's, but..."
"Yeah, yeah, alright, I know, I know."
It's not like he could get away with not eating them, after all.
Not when he was the one who had dared her to make some edible cookies in the first place...
"I even gave some to P-chan before I came! He seemed to like them..."
Ranma sweatdropped, having a sudden urge to go see if Ryouga was in a coma somewhere. Well, none of Akane's cooking up to this point in time had ever actually managed to down Ryouga, no matter what the taste, but...
Oh, well, time to bite the bullet. It wasn't like she hadn't managed to make some perfectly edible curry before, after all.
OK, one, two... Ranma's eyes popped open.
"Hey, Akane! Those are...edible!"
"It's edible!"
"It's edible, he says?"
"It's edible - this must be a miracle!"
The man in the red outfit looked on wide-eyed as a very large number of students suddenly arrived on scene, seemingly from nowhere.
"Akane-san made cookies, and they're edible!"
"Oh, wow!"
"...What in the world is going on there?" The man dressed in red murmured, moving his sword out of the way of the incoming wave of students.
The young blonde woman chuckled, eating a large chunk of her cake.
"It seems like the young lady there just gave her beau some cookies!"
"Well yes, I can see that, but..."
So many Dhampires.
And not just Dhampires, either...
"Milady. This is...strange..."
"Oh, I'm not surprised at that, at all."
The girl grinned impishly, finishing up her cake.
"Ahh, that was good. - Come, Jirou, let's go explore this place!"
