[Episode 212205]Despite the rather abnormal start to their morning, Nabiki was honestly surprised quickly things calmed down once everyone started eating. Ranma was eating at her usual breakneck pace, but wether that was habit or self distraction was hard to tell for certain. At least he wasn’t stealing from anyone’s plate though, not that Ranma usually did when Genma wasn’t around.
Akane might have kept harassing Ranma for her artificial arousal- as Nabiki thought of it -while they ate, but kept running into an obstacle. Peeking at Ranma to spy on her made Akane look like she was gawking at Cassandra’s improved assets; every time she noticed this, her sister would blush and turn away again.
Kasumi happily served anyone who asked for food like she always did, but with a little help from the newly evolved Cyan. The two of them were eerily alike now, and seemed to know instinctively when someone was about to ask for something. It was literally like having two Kasumis around.
Incidentally both of the feline girls ended up sitting beside Nabiki, who just happened to wind up across from Ranma. Nabiki silently noted that Ranma hadn’t so much as twitched around the two cat-girls yet, but decided to point it out to him later. Now was probably a good time to start keeping track of what did and didn’t set Ranma off when those two were around the martial artist.
Professor Nova was seated at the far end of the table, with Lou at his right and both of the twins on his left, side by side. She’d had to at finding this out, but the twins’ names were actually the numbers stenciled on their foreheads said in German. Elf was eleven, and Zwolf was twelve, and apparently they were both clones of some other girl.
If she had to guess, Nabiki would say it was one of the two new girls who joined them, since they all had the same face and relative builds. She was betting her money on the girl without a number tattooed on her head. Yet so far, neither of the pair had volunteered their names yet. However, Nabiki did notice that the numberless one didn’t seem to like Nova very much and was glaring at him from the opposite end of the table. Six, since Nabiki didn’t know what the number was in German, didn’t seem to care about much of anything and ate in silence.
Several minutes into the meal Nabiki finally decided she’d waited long enough to be polite. “So, now that all of us are registered as Tamers, where do you recommend that we go from here, Professor?” she asked into the general clatter of a large meal.
“That depends a great deal on what you wish to do in this world, Ms. Tendo. Do you wish to settle in and make this world your home? Or would you rather search for a way home that may or may not exist? Do you all wish to conform to this world as it already is, or do you have some noble quest in mind to make it more like your old one?” Nova countered, growing more excited with every suggestion.
“Go home of course, this place is just too crazy, even for me,” Ranma replied automatically between mouthfuls.
“How can you be so selfish, Ranma?! We owe it to these poor girls to at least try and find out if there’s anything we can do to help fix this crazy world!” Akane scolded her fiancé.
“Easy, I got the worst case of the Tingles you’ve ever dreamed of in places I don’t even want to mention just from getting my measurements taken. You think I want to see what the rest of this world is like after something like that?” Ranma drawled back as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
“You have to admit Ranma has got a point there, Akane. If there is a way home, I think we should at least check it out and see if it’s legit. Then we can decide if we want to go on some crusade to fix this world or not. Although you might want to keep the pervert bashing to a minimum while we’re here too, Akane. They literally do have laws written against it here; I checked,” Nabiki interjected before the pair could degenerate into a name calling contest.
“Is there any way you know of that we can go home, Professor Nova?” Kasumi interjected without actually siding either way. A question that Nabiki noted had all three of their new Pokégirls silently on edge.
“I have only heard of one person who has ever mastered the ability of piercing the dimensional barrier and going to other worlds at will. I’m afraid that the information is only an unconfirmed rumor at this point however. I’m afraid that the man in question is believed to be long dead, as well,” Nova replied with a baiting smile.
The professor was silently daring them to ask the follow-up question, “Who was that?” Ranma blurted out, conveniently giving in to the obvious bait. It was better than having to ask him herself, but Nabiki still couldn’t help rolling her eyes at just how easy Ranma could be to manipulate sometimes.
“None other than the infamous Sukebe himself, the father of Pokégirl kind and the very founder of this world as we know it today! Yet, even if the ancient rumors are true, you’ll have to dig up the very foundation of the world he created to find out how he did it!” Nova cackled back like a mad hatter. Then stopped quickly to give them all an insane grin. “And I can assure you, dear children, that you will encounter no small amount of resistance along the way as well. This world is all but terrified of its own past, afraid they might restart the same nightmare that nearly destroyed humanity three centuries ago!” he finished before cackling again.
“So . . . while we’re looking for a way home, we just might find a way to make it so Pokégirls don’t have to have sex to stay sane anymore?” Akane asked, perking up. The expression on her face just screaming ‘TROUBLE’ in Nabiki’s head as she looked at her little sister. Akane practically had the perfect excuse to pursue her little quest now, and getting her to back down on it now was going to be next to impossible.
“I won’t deny that it’s a vague possibility at least, Ms. Tendo. Another rumor does state that Pokégirls did not begin going feral without taming until after Sukebe’s reported demise three centuries ago. But finding out why and reversing that will be no easier than finding your way home, I think. Your chances of finding either are admittedly infinitesimal, however,” Professor Nova added a bit more somberly this time, just not by a lot.
“Fine, so we can do both at the same time, no big deal. But where do we start?” Ranma asked, patting her full belly. Unwittingly catching the attention of all the Pokégirls at the table by making her breasts jiggle under the body condom she was wearing. Well, maybe it wasn’t really a body condom, but it could easily pass for one, Nabiki thought.
“Well, I never did finish exploring the ruins I found that handy little device that measured you and then made that outfit for you, Ranma. If you can somehow confirm that it was one of Sukebe’s labs, then you might find some clue about where his other secret labs were hidden as well. It’s as safe as any other place you might start. Or if you prefer a more direct approach, you could try hunting down Sukebe’s former lieutenants, specifically one of the Legendary class Pokégirls who helped tear the old world apart. If you can get them to talk about such things even if you find them,” Nova replied with one of his insane smiles.
“Assuming she doesn’t kill them all on sight you mean,” the unmarked, nameless girl sitting opposite Professor Nova drawled, glaring disgustedly at the man. The look she gave him daring Nova to say otherwise.
“Well there is that little detail as well. Nevertheless, if these dear children really do wish to go home, Alita, then they have no choice but to take some risks to do so. Otherwise they will be trapped in a world that they do not belong to forever,” Professor Nova retorted, seemingly delighted that the girl said anything at all.
“And what good will going home do them if they’re dead, Nova. What then? I seriously doubt letting them commit suicide is going to help your damned karma theory any,” Alita scoffed back at the gleeful madman.
“Nor would caging them up and protecting them from this world. They must be free to do as they wish, my dear girl, or nothing I learn from them will be of any merit! Besides, I think you underestimate them, Alita. Ranma there is on par with some of the stronger fighting type Pokégirls, and apparently has a peculiar knack for defeating opponents even stronger than herself. Under the right circumstances, she could probably give you a considerable challenge, my dear!” Nova countered, grinning manically.
Nabiki quietly groaned to herself and hopped that Alita didn’t have an ego like Ranma’s. Because the professor had figuratively slapped her in the face with a steel gauntlet just now, and hard, by Nerima standards.
“With one of my arms chopped off and on a bad day, maybe,” Alita shot back, confidently indifferent to the challenge.
“Heh, I can take you or anybody else on any day, macho chick, Pokégirl or not!” Ranma shot back just as confidently.
Nabiki shook her head at the predictability of it all. Compare one top notch fighter’s abilities with another one’s and you eventually had both of them practically dying to fight each other to prove themselves. This Alita girl didn’t look like she’d be any different.
“You’ll be lucky if I don’t accidentally maim you in this form, little girl, never mind my combat mode. And as far as Legendary Pokégirls’ go? You’d never even get close unless she let you, end of story,” Alita retorted as if she didn’t even think Ranma was worth her time.
“Prove it! I’ll take you one anytime, anywhere, with or without rules!” Ranma challenged the Pokégirl back, shooting to her feet in a huff. Ranma wasn’t any taller standing up, but she was clearly ready for a fight, nearly naked or not.
“How about ten minutes from now, in the training room, and You can pick the rules,” Alita retorted boredly, then stood up and left the room. The girl, Alita, didn’t even bother looking behind her to see Ranma’s reaction as she left the kitchen.
Meanwhile Ranma had a cold blue aura starting to form around her as she seethed at the departing Pokégirl’s back. Even Kasumi, who knew Ranma wouldn’t hurt an innocent bystander, was leaning imperceptibly away from the part-time girl. Cassandra on the other hand had switched seats in momentary fright and was now sitting in a blushing Akane’s lap.
Beside her, Alice and Cyan looked just a bit shaken as well. Elf, Zwolf, Lou, ‘Ms. Six’ only looked slightly wary of Ranma, yet were clearly more curious than actually concerned. Meanwhile, the mad Professor Nova looked positively intrigued and delighted by the whole by play.
“She is So going down! I don’t care if she’s a girl or not!” Ranma declared, stalking out of the room next, without even knowing where she was going yet.
“Poor Akane, I think she may actually lose to that girl,” Kasumi remarked out of the blue, sounding like she’d been in her own little world again.
“Um, hello, sis, Ranma’s the one challenging her, not Akane,” Nabiki retorted, just hoping to make sense of what her big sister was really thinking.
