Ranma dreamed. Setsuna was ready.

Ranma was only vaguely aware of Setsuna's arrival a moment after his own.

That was because instead of the battlefield post-battle, they were getting a shadowy glimpse of the battlefield as it had apparently occurred.

It was all completely silent.

"That explains something," mumbled Setsuna as she looked around.

"Explains what?" asked Ranma as the carnage continued around him.

"Why the Dark Kingdom was as weakened as it was when Sailor Moon faced it, is facing it," said Setsuna, correcting herself as she allowed for her presence in the past. "Metal'la should have been stronger. The heavy troops are unaccounted for excepting a few. There are the four generals and a number of other yoma, but nothing near the force that was bound by Serenity. THIS is what happened to the remainder. They woke early, broke out, and faced another set of defenders."

"Aye," said Ranma.

Setsuna did a doubletake at that, noticing only when she really looked for it the presence of a particularly spectral Thor with one hand clasping Ranma's shoulder. Blue eyes freely wept at the sight of the battle raging silently around them.

The Senshi of Time frowned as pieces of puzzle began fitting together.

Ranma watched, apparently not noticing the vague shadow behind him. The battle was fierce with no quarter asked nor given. One by one the giants felled the smaller figures, only to fall in turn by hammer and sword and spear.

One golden-haired warrior-maid fell, and apparently drew a scream of anguish from the image of Thor on the field. Then he turned to fight the serpent rearing up behind him. The venom that the impossibly huge serpent spat dissolved a trio of warriors almost immediately, and Thor himself looked to have had at least a layer of skin burned away in an instant. Then he closed and began striking his mortal enemy with that hammer again and again until the impossibly large serpent fell and set off earthquakes as it hit.

Nine steps he took, blinded and burning, almost reaching the fallen golden-haired woman before he died.

Setsuna saw this, saw the spectral Thor behind Ranma fade. Before it vanished it met her eyes with its own.

Everything clicked. She didn't have all the pieces of the puzzle but she knew the shape and the image of it. She knew what was going on.

Now she just had to figure out what to do about it.
