"I said --" Akane stopped mid-sentence, and stared. "Oh, brother."
After transforming, Genma had just sat in the pond for a few moments, staring at her new body. Around the time Ranma and Akane reached the door, Genma fainted. (Luckily for Genma, she fell with her face up out of the water.)
Genma's new form was not exactly an improvement on the old. She was still overweight, still had a face that was on the plain side, and while she wasn't bald (her male form's lack of hair being due to male-pattern-baldness) her hair was on the thin side, and turning gray.
Akane commented, "I guess you won't be replacing Ranma with Genma in your photo-shoots, huh, Nabiki?" When she got no response to that, she looked around and realized Nabiki hadn't come to look at Genma-onna. In fact, she was still standing in the living-room a few steps from where she'd been when she was accosted by Happosai, and she wasn't moving.
"Nabiki, are you alright?" Akane said, as she walked back over to check on Nabiki. Kasumi and Ranma followed her.
Took you three long enough to notice, Nabiki complained silently.
Akane waved her hand in front of Nabiki's face. "Nabiki? Hello?"
Akane turned to Ranma and said angrily, "You turned her back into a statue, didn't you? Idiot!"
Ranma blinked. "I don't think so..."
Yes you did! Nabiki thought angrily. You said, "Guess there's some good things about you being a statue, Nabiki, huh?" and suddenly I couldn't move!
While Nabiki was correct about the sequence of events, she was wrong about the cause-and-effect. The Great Will didn't just make anything Ranma said come true, it required (appropriately enough) that he focus his will upon the change. Which is not to say that Ranma had willed her to be immobile again. However, when Akane had asked Ranma to turn Nabiki back to normal, he had chosen to experiment with the power a bit rather than just instantly turn her back. He had started by granting her movement while keeping her made out of gold; but he hadn't put his entire will into that change. As a result of this, when his attention wavered, she reverted to the last state he had fully willed her to be - which included being immobile.
Not knowing this, Ranma, Kasumi, and Akane were still trying to figure out what had happened.
Kasumi said thoughtfully, "Perhaps she's only pretending to be a statue? If I recall correctly, she occasionally pretended to be one when she was a child."
Nabiki would have blushed if she could. You didn't have to bring that up, Kasumi!
Akane said, "I don't remember that."
"It was when you were very little."
"Weird," Ranma commented. (Of course, as he couldn't really remember back before the Training Trip, any sort of playing pretend would have struck him as weird.)
Akane added, "At any rate, it's not like she's a kid now."
"True," Kasumi allowed. "I just thought having one of her childhood fantasies made real might have been too much of a temptation for her to resist. In fact, even if she can't move right now, I wouldn't be surprised if she was enjoying herself."
Nabiki couldn't believe her ears. What, do you think I have a bondage fetish or something, Kasumi?! It was only fun when I was a kid because it was make-believe!
Unknowingly agreeing with Nabiki, Akane said, "I seriously doubt that, Kasumi. Ranma, why don't you try again to turn her normal."
Ranma put his hand to his chin. "Hmm..."
