Chained World Mech: Just A Little Spar.... [Episode 213670]

by Kender

For Ranma, the chance to spar was almost always a good thing, since it allowed him to do something that he enjoyed in a comfortable atmosphere. As long as his father wasn't sending insults his way, he could at least have the chance to share the Art with someone who wanted to be in his presence. He'd had too much experience in such things to be all that put out by the idea that the idea that such a person might not like him as a friend, but being able to compete without having to worry about being totally hated was good.

So, he was rather pleased with how things were going, given that he could actually spar with Saki, who he was sure actually liked him. If nothing else, she hadn't shown any sign of disliking him, and had actually seemed to be rather willing to be nice to him. That she had not known him for very long was a concern, but he was pretty sure that they were going to get along wonderfully.

"Ya ready?" he asked her as he got into a loose stance.

Saki brought her hands up and ready. "Any time that you are, Master."

"Well, let's get on with it."

"Yes, Master," she responded... and charged right at him.

It wasn't that she actually wanted to hurt him, as that would be counter to what she had been desiring. However, she knew that this was sparring, and in order to that, attacks had to be used. Since she was the new individual in the group, and he was her Master, it fell to her to put in the effort. With that in mind, she sent a series of stabbing attacks out with her hands, intent on tagging him as much as she could.

That might have worked on another boy, but this was Ranma Saotome that she was dealing with, and speed was his game. Instead of being there where she could hit him, he ducked and weaved as quickly as he could, and avoided her strikes. Not that her blows were light though, as he could almost feel some sort of pressure smack into his skin on several of them.

Realizing that the scientist types had actually managed something good with her, he grinned, and sent a few open handed blows at her middle. One smacked into the flat surface of her belly, forcing Saki to take several steps back. But at the same time, they were small steps, and he had to admit that hitting her was like hitting a wall. Switching tactics, he pivoted on one foot, and sent a handful of quick kicks up towards her head. She managed to dodge several of them, but a few smacked into her shoulders, and snapped her chin up.

As she swung back and nearly caught him with a punch across his chest, he had to admit that she would be a good fighter, though he could already see one major difference between her and Mahoro. Had he been sparring with his first slave, she would have managed to avoid all those kicks, but Saki couldn't manage the same. Being able to take it was impressive though, and he had to admit that it was not all that bad of a fact.

To be honest, he had to admit that it would hurt if she connected with one of her punches, and not just in his pride. The force that he saw in it made him instinctually bend backwards, and he flipped out of the way before something happened. Deciding to see what she could really do, he charged in low, and came up at her with a quick uppercut.

Seeing what was happening, she leapt out of the way, and jumped to the nearest flat surface. Said 'surface' just happened to be a wall, and she bounced off of it before gravity could make a claim on her. He jumped out of the way of her latest attack, which was a kick that landed where he had been, and did his own counterstrike from across the room. When she managed to block, he actually twisted in midair and attacked again.

This time, she had to dig in her heels to keep from getting knocked over, gritting her teeth the whole time. Pushing him away, she swung back at him, focusing in on tagging him in return. She almost managed to do that, but he leapt over a piece of equipment at the last moment, letting her strike it rather than him.

Unfortunately, he was on the other side of it when it began falling over.

Going wide eyed, Ranma gulped and knew that he had to move before something painful happened.

"MASTER!" Saki cried out, and simply... reacted. Terrified of what could happen, she moved to prevent it, and smashed the equipment away from him. Doing so sent it flying into the wall, causing several sizable chunks of the reinforced surface to cave in and fall towards them. But they never landed as they began to, as she sent her punches rocketing into the material, causing it to shatter into a mix of dust and fist sized debris.

Once she saw that the danger was dealt with, she twirled around and saw her Master sitting on the floor, looking rather confused. Relief flooding her features, she knelt down next to him, and took his hands in hers. "Master, are you alright?"

"What was that?" he asked, glancing over at her.

"I am really sorry. But I saw you in danger, and I... overreacted."

"I'd say so."

"Causing trouble wasn't what I wanted."

"This ain't the worst of the trouble," Ranma admitted, noting that even if she wasn't as quick as Mahoro, Saki was certainly the stronger of the two. "There was one thing that we should be glad 'bout though."

"And what is that?"

"We're lucky that you're such a nice girl. If ya were some psycho tomboy with the temper of a gorilla, we'd be in trouble."

She had the grace to duck her head and blush.

With the sound of gravel spilling from the damaged wall, they got back to their feet, while:
