Coupled Union - Love's Honor: Mist Of Shadows [Episode 214609]

by Kender

Kasumi was Ranma's wife.

Now, this would have confused some, and did lead to some... amusing conversations, but it was also the truth. The thing was that although he rather liked Nabiki's big sister, her hand was bare of wedding rings, or any other shiny bits. Why this could be was due to the fact that the girl that Nabiki was speaking with was most certainly not a blood relation, which made it easier to understand.

As it was, there were plenty of people around with 'Kasumi' as a name. Choosing to call someone by that was understandable, and seemed to be quite popular. It was a nice enough name, and lots of girls went along every day using it. Hell, if she could count all times that she'd heard about girls with names that were the same as ones that she knew, she'd be stuck for a long while.

Of course, that was neither here nor there... but it was terribly fun to deal with at times.

What she had to do now though was going to bring its own sort of pleasure, and she was rather enjoying doing it.

*"That's the story so far,"* Nabiki commented, sounding rather like she'd settled into it. *"For the moment though, we can't do much, seeing as he hasn't gotten here yet."*

"I understand. Only... what will you do when he does get there?" Kasumi asked.

*"I'm sure that we can come up with something, though...."*

Even if this was a serious moment, Kasumi had to admire Nabiki's skill in manipulating events, as she had ever since Lei Fang had given her the message. Had the younger girl been willing to train in the physical part of it, she would have done well as a kunoichi. Right now, she was just someone to be aware of, seeing as she could be a really helpful friend, as she was doing right now.

However, that still left the fact that her husband was being dragged along to be introduced as a prospective husband to someone else. That the girls involved were her friends made it worse, and she rather disliked the concept of him being taken from her like that. Having already been through a lot of heartache before, she didn't want to have to suffer through more.

Besides, she loved Ranma with all her heart and wanted to grow old by his side. Perhaps that was odd for a ninja to say, but for her, love was more important than some glory and pride. She was the sort of person who would do what she had to in order to help those that she cared about, and tried to give mercy to those she fought against. That might have made her a bit more... soft than others, but she wasn't looking to be the 'princess' that others had tried to make her into.

What she wanted most was to live happily with her husband, family, and friends, and she wanted to do her best to make that happen, seeing as she was:
