In the savannahs of Africa was a hex, for example, whose inhabitants were now humanoids who were centauroid lions. From the waist down they were like some big predatory cat, from the waist up they were near human if you discounted that they had fur and muzzles and such. Some members of which had been as far away as California in the United States prior to the switching.
In that African hex, which was known as Krowlram, all equipment except the most basic and mostly muscle-powered failed to function. Cell phones wouldn't switch on, cars wouldn't start, and electrical outlets failed to carry electricity.
Krowlram would eventually be noted as a Nontech Hex and a hazardous area to cross for outsiders.
The Krowlramites, or lion-centaurs, would turn out to be completely at home with their new forms and lifestyles. This included a new common language with each other. This was true of nearly every hex though, and not something unique to the Krowlramites. What WAS unique to the Krowlramites was that their hex had a rift in the ground from which fumes spilled - and those fumes allowed the Krowlramite so breathing it in to get thoroughly stoned. Not in the manner of petrification, but more along the line of being pleasantly drunk.
Next door to Krowlram would turn out to be the Hightech hex of Pentoo, which would turn out to have something like penguins but adapted to much warmer weather. A resemblence to Pen-pen of Evangelion would have immediately been noted by many. As far as they were concerned with their newly mountainous region though, the lion-centaurs were best avoided. Pentoo would eventually become known in the region for its brewmasters and the major focus of the Pentooites would become a lifestyle where they could laze back in a refrigeration unit and drink nicely chilled beer.
Tatewaki Kuno was now a Krowlramite, female as four out of five Krowlramites were, and not really satisfied with either state though more accepting of it than he would have expected. Sasuke Sarugakure was now a Pentooite, still male, and rather more pleased with his life.
