Over seven feet in height, there had been those who'd wanted to call their race the Tauren. Instead, at the center of the hex had been an Embassy Gate and a holographic plaque that had informed them that they were the Dasheen.
That Dasheen was apparently something like a potato in Caribbean areas was another vote for Tauren in those circles.
She was also now, and apparently forever, male. Very male. With a harem.
Akane Tendo really really really hated those aliens.
Dasheen females were dumber than males. Those who'd been able to read before changing were now unable to read, unable to count beyond eight, and slower than 'molasses in winter' as another Dasheen/Tauren put it. They also produced milk, which was necessary for the males to partake of daily.
Akane Tendo, male Dasheen, border farmer, Master of a harem of five, had come to grips with the current situation as best s/he could. Which still had her finding a high place to roar her outrage at the situation on a regular basis.
There WAS one thing good going for her. There had been a couple of incursions from the neighboring hex of some sort of crocodile-men, but their languages had been so different that they hadn't even been able to communicate enough to even get that much across. Raiding parties of some kind? Rowdy kids?
Didn't matter much. She'd appreciated the opportunity to cut loose in some violent venting.
Akane had also discovered, due to a sort of network in the embassies that kept track of who was what, that some of the hexes were more communicative than others.
Ranma and Kasumi were now Drconis. A mostly-humanlike draconic species.
Tatewaki Kuno was in a nontech hex called Krowlram, a female in a male's harem. They were lion-centaurs of some kind.
Sasuke Sarugakure was a penguin-like creature called a Pentoo, a hightech hex, and worked in a distillery.
As for Hikaru Gosunkugi - Akane knew exactly where she was. The confused Dasheen was docile and very definitely female, and one of Akane's herd. Also apparently quite frisky and eager to initiate certain activities. So was Hiroshi and Daisuke - though Akane wasn't sure how to break it to anyone still back in Nerima that three of her five-cow harem were formerly guys she'd known back in Furinkan.
It took another day before word reached her of Nabiki's fate via a message from Kasumi through another Embassy contact. In Nabiki's case she was now:
