A Tale of Two Souls - Tsuroko Aoyama: Heir to the Chief [Episode 215413]

by Errol Peregrinus

Oh! My little sister wants to spar.’ Ranma could feel teenage annoyance on the surface, as well as the core of sisterly love, over the link.

Maybe I should pick her up a gift on my way there? What do little six year old girls like?’ Ranma wanted to make a good impression on Tsuroko’s family.

Well this little six year old likes the art of the sword, and not much else.

Ranma smirked. ‘I think I’ll get along just fine with your little sister, then.’ Ranma could hear his soulmate respond with a giggle. Ranma could then feel his soulmate’s attention be directed away from the link, and he knew she must be dealing with little Motoko. ‘Maybe I can find a small, little plush toy for Motoko-han.’ Ranma was already picking up some of Tsuroko’s grammar quirks when thinking about her family.

Throughout the trip to Kyoto, and the necessary changing of trains, Tsuroko was able to pay Ranma some off and on attention, helping an otherwise boring trip to go by faster.

When Ranma finally arrived, he started to head towards where Tsuroko said she would find him. Along the way, he kept his eyes open for shops. Stopping along the way, he bought some flowers for Tsuroko and her mom and a plush turtle for Motoko. ‘Hope everyone likes their gifts.

Ranma entered a busy tourist site, full of people there to explore the sights of Kyoto. ‘How do I know which one is you?

I’ll be wearing a sea-green dress with a white rose pinned to it. Also, my little sister will be tagging along. *sigh*’ Tsuroko had decided to meet Ranma in public and escort him to her family home, as being better than him just wandering up to the house unaccompanied.

OK. I’ll be sitting by this fountain when you show up.

Ranma was sitting long enough that he was beginning to grow bored. And his stomach rumbled, reminding him it has been some time since he last ate. ‘I wonder if I have enough money left for some grub?’ Peering around, trying to find a food cart of some sort, Ranma did not notice at first when someone sat next to him.

Turning his head back from the other way, he caught sea-green out of the corner of his eye. Looking over, he saw next to him an elegant teenager in a sea-green dress pinned with a white rose. Smiling, he asked, “Tsuroko?”

The girl rewarded him with a brilliant smile. “Ranma! I wasn’t sure it was you because you’re a girl now.”

“Huh?” Ranma looked down, and sure enough he was a female at the moment. “Must have gotten splashed by the fountain.”

“Fu fu fu,” Tsuroko laughed. “You should of known better than to sit by one.”

Ranma chuckled. “Yeah, well ... it seemed an easy landmark for you to look for.” That was when Ranma noticed the little girl trying to hide behind Tsuroko. “Hello.”

Tsuroko smiled. “Motoko-han, say hello to Ranma.”

“Nuh-uh,” Motoko said as she shook her head. Clinging to her sister, she tried to stay hidden.

“Motoko,” Tsuroko’s voice grew stern, “be polite and say hello. Now.”

“Hel-hello,” Motoko shyly said before darting behind her sister again.

Tsuroko rolled her eyes. “Shall we be off?”

Ranma nodded, and the trio set off for the Shinmeiryu Dojo.
