Luckily for Keiichi, things at the temple had been crazy enough so that no one noticed the look on Belldandy's face when they arrived. Unfortunately, the craziness involved a lovers spat between Sigel and Banpei. Those two robots had wrecked Skuld's workshop and accidentally blew up Urd's room because of some potions mixing together. This smokescreen allowed Keiichi and Belldandy to escape the grilling that they would have otherwise been subjected to.
Once the typical crazy day was over, Keiichi wearily made his way to his room and plopped down on his futon. Belldandy opened the door before her lover could fall asleep and sat down next to him. Naturally, Keiichi sat up and said, "Hi Bell. So what can I do for you?" A small part of him, even though he'd never admit it out loud, was hoping that she was here for another close encounter.
Belldandy smiled and said, "I wanted to tell you more about our son Keiichi."
This caught the motorcyclist a little off guard and he said, "Oh. I didn't know that you'd be able to know much about the little one yet. After all, he was only conceived six hours ago."
The goddess's smile grew bigger and she replied, "Usually you'd be correct. However, I did a scan to check on our son's health and found that the seal that the Almighty One places on reborn souls is extremely weak."
Keiichi's eyes widened and he worried asked, "Is our kid going to be alright Bell? Could this hurt him?" While Keiichi was still shocked at the idea of being a father, he didn't want anything bad to happen to his and Belldandy's child.
Belldandy gave Keiichi a small kiss on the cheek and then stated, "Everything is going to be find dear. This particular seal simply blocks a soul's memories of its last lifetime. Since the seal on our son is so weak, he will be heavily influenced by his past life and could regain the memories of his previous life. But, I wouldn't worry about it too much."
This surprised Keiichi a little bit. He figured that the memory question would have worried Belldandy a little bit, even though he and Bell would love their son no matter what. Seeing the look in his eye, Belldandy continued on, "I did a search on Yggdrasil and found out about our son's past life. He was a rather sweet boy with an unparalleled talent for martial arts. Unfortunately, our son didn't have very good parents in his past life and he died when his fiancee basically wished that he lost his soul."
Keiichi saw the pain in Bell's eyes as she talked about their child's past life. He wrapped his arms around her and softly said, "Don't worry Bell. We'll make sure that our son has a happy childhood and we'll insure that he has a better life this time around."
