Judgement Day: The Beginning [Episode 215515]

by ManicJudgement

It started almost 100 years ago, four years after the Great War. Over 20 starships hovered in the sky for two weeks. People, cattle, even whole towns started disappearing. The president, Warren Harding, started Operation Silver-sky, a means of removing the aircraft by use of artillary and grenadier pilots. Planning to attack each aircraft one by one, the military started with a ship above Isador Springs, Nevada, now called Area 51. After 8 hours of fighting and minimal casualties, the ship was brought down, destroying the small town. Within 15 minutes of the crash, the other ships had left the atmosphere. We thought we had gotten the leader or scared them off, but we were wrong. All we had done was destroyed a small scout, sending a message to our potential allies as us being a vicious, destructive, and vengeful people. And so, though we hadn't known it at the time, we sparked a war that would either destroy us, or destroy them. A fight to the death. Soon, all was either forgotten or covered up, a secret known only by the scientists at Area 51, or the most important VIPs at The Pentagon. And so life continued, as if nothing ever happened.

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!\ Alex groaned. He hated this machine. If planes flew above him, it beeped. If it was storming, it beeped. It beeped when a satellite passed within 60 miles of the station, even it's own. He checked the radar. No aircraft within 80 miles. The weather read perfectly, just another sunny day. There wasn't a satellite in sight on the reader. That meant... No, it couldn't be. He rushed to the telescope.

It was. A large object, about 84km in diameter, just passed Jupiter, heading straight for Earth. He grabbed the phone and dialed the Space Exploration and Colonization Embassy.

"Get me David King! This is an emergancy!"

"I'm sorry, but Mr. King is in a meeting discussing the Astro-Outreach program's budget. Can I take a message?"

"No, I need to connect to him now! It isn't just about some meteor this time, I promise you."

"... Very well, but if I lose my job because of this, I'll be coming to you, doctor."

"What is it!?"

"Sir, there's a VERY large unidentified starcraft heading here. It certainly isn't ours."

"How do you know that, Filippenko?"

"Well, sir, it's heating up."

"Heating up? In space?"

"Yes sir. It's already reached 280 degrees... celsius. And it seems to be seperating as well..."

"How soon will it get here?"

"If it maintains this speed, it will get here in approximately 4 hours."

"Okay, I'll send some scouts to intercept them. You call the president and inform him. Have they made contact?"

"No, sir."

"Ok. Attept contact and call me if they respond."
