Looking over his choices, Ranma decided that while he wanted to know more, both about those spells implanted in him and the dragon who apparently owned this place before he came, there was no telling whether the monster was still alive and trying to get back at him, because wherever this tower was, it was not the real world, which meant it was either a spiritual world or a mental world – in either case, his body was unguarded and that simply would not do.
“Is there some way I can make a copy of this place to bring with me?” asked Ranma, now more authoritative than before, as he knew he would get an answer regardless.
‘Copying Dreadwing Mymior ... error ... unable to locate corresponding Mymior ...’
“Can you make one for me?” ventured Ranma. “But not as big and conspicuous as that huge ring I touched to get here.”
‘Request acknowledged ... beginning construction of Mymior ... requesting owner identity.’
“Ranma,” stated the man in question, omitting his family name, because as it stood, he was not sure which name he felt more attached to, given the revelations he had just gotten.
‘Owner identified as Ranma ... Mymior construction begun ... complete, copying programming ... complete, copying data ... complete.’
“Could you get me out of here?”
With a similar jerk as the one that had him there, Ranma found himself draped over the edge of the abyss, staring down at the form of the monster, now sporting a large, slowly closing but still gushing hole in its forehead, glaring angrily up as it scaled the wall.
The moment Ranma saw the being again, he knew that this ‘computer’ was what it was guarding – well, now that he had everything of value, there was no need to remain, or even finish the creature off.
“Bye,” the wererat called and made for the exit.
Behind him, Ranma heard the monster crawl over the edge and roar in outrage at the lack of prey.
The last thing he did before departing was to ask the lair to return to how it was before he came – with the exception of the entrance he had used, which he had sealed.
There was a rumble as the monster banged on the rock Ranma had sealed behind him. It took a vast amount of willpower for him to keep the rock from breaking apart under the assault.
For what felt like hours, the monster tried to break through, until it gave up.
As it stood now, Ranma had several choices before him.
