Minato quickly carried Naruto to the battle field and rapidly performed the jutsu to summon the Shinigami. Unknown to Minato, the Supernatural Superbowl was airing and the Shinigami was a rabid football fan. Thus the Shinigami only gave a quickly glance at Naruto and the Kyuubi before he started to seal the biju into the newborn. If the Shinigami been paying closer attention to the situation instead of worrying about the game he would have realized what a major headache he was about cause.
Demons and deities were fundamentally opposite entities and their powers were fundamentally aligned in the same manner. One could almost liken these two supernatural beings' powers to matter and antimatter. This meant that it was theoretically impossible for both energies to naturally exist within a single being. Urd was only alive because Hide had created an extremely powerful spell and cast it on the bronze skinned goddess while she was still in Hide's womb. That spell insured either Urd's divine powers or her demonic were always suppressed so she could live.
Naruto didn't have any ultimate level spells like that cast on him. If he had been a full blooded god, then an explosion would have quickly occurred after the sealing which would have whipped out all life on the planet. Fortunately for Naruto and everyone else, the newborn babe was only a demi-god. It would be through Naruto's human half that everyone would survive this night.
Humanity was a unique species as far as intelligent races went. Most races had certain innate abilities and were never able to advance past the limits of those abilities. Those races were 'bound by fate' as Neji would have said. Humanity was completely different. Humans were constantly able to break their boundaries and grow. It was as if the entire race was touched by Chaos; the one force in the universe that caused both Heaven and Hell pause and think.
As soon as the Kyuubi's youki entered Naruto, the boy's tenki rushed out to attack. Naruto's charka came between the two energies before they could meet. His charka quickly adopted a spiral pattern similar to the Shinigami's seal. The two opposing energies became trapped with the chakra spiral and began to feed spiral. The malleability and adaptability of Naruto's chakra allowed the youki and tenki to exist together. In the face of every belief in the universe, this unique energy core became self-sustaining.
Peorth came flying to the battlefield just as the seal set. She softly landed on Gamabunta's head and scooped Naruto up. The Shinigami had already taken Minato's soul, so the rose goddess was the only one around to watch as Naruto's physical changes occurred. The boy's divine markings blazed into life and quickly began to change. His cheek marks morphed from their blue soft ovals into blue demonic slash marks. As for the forehead mark, oval shape remained the same. However, its color changed from soft blue to blood red. The markings weren't the only changes Naruto went through. His ears became slightly pointy. Also, the boy's hair color changed from blond to black with red highlights.
In all honesty, Peorth was a little taken aback by Naruto's changes. It was the markings that got to her the most. Gods had one style of markings and demons had another. Those two styles weren't meant to be mix and yet they were on Naruto. She didn't have a clue what the bizarre mix would mean for her son. However, Peorth did know one thing: Naruto was her son and nothing was going to harm him at all.
