A leaping Happosai, instead of rushing past as a blur, or attaching himself to Akane's body, ends up in the floor nearby. What happened?
Explaining requires us to both rewind a few moments and understand some of the nature of Happosai's speed and Ki use. Much of his speed is natural, to be sure, but a decent portion of it is assisted by his own Ki. Rushing a target is a 3 step process.
1. Identify the target. 2. 'Lock on'. 3. Boost forward using energy as a 'magnet' to draw him forward, increasing his movement to a massive degree.
Happosai's Ki, by default, is highly Male. Ranma's Ki is identifiable regardless of form, and his Ki majority matches his form. The Hybrid creatures are unique in that they produce massive amounts of ki, but it's entirely balanced-something unique to them, the better to satisfy the tastes of a demon who might mix and match the amounts of Ki they draw from several targets to create the energy equivalent of cocktails.
Order of events went roughly as follows.
1. Happosai notices Akane nearby whilst travelling. Her Ki feels odd; stronger than usual. Which merely means that something interesting is going on. He resolves to 'investigate'. 2. Happosai locks on, and begins using his 'Ki Magnet'. 3. As he approaches, the mass amount of male Ki Akane is putting off acts as a barrier, slowing Happosai's forward movement, eventually to a stop. This does not apply to his vertical movement.
Result-One cantankerous old man takes a faceful of dirt rather than a faceful of flesh.
"Oh! Good day, Happosai!"
And there's a sign(as if the Ki weren't enough) that something is seriously strange today; Akane's never quite that pleasant to him. He still can't quite get up, though he can see her feet and legs from where he is. Her legs bob in a curtsey.
"Seems you're off your stride today-you don't normally miss." Was that [i]longing[/i] in her voice? Like she was sad to have him miss? That'd be a turn up for the books, and something to treasure.
"Not that I'd have been of much use to you; I've had a little accident with my clothing. Not much left, if you want it."
Finally getting up, he can see the new, improved Akane, with her ruined clothing scattered around her feet, bright, clear eyes, a smile that could light up a building, and a certain new addition standing tall and proud. Which was more than enough to force his eyes to attempt to match the size of the Moon.
"A BIG accident, I'd call it. Good gods, Akane, what happened to you? A cute girl like you shouldn't have something that'd make a horse jealous!"
Akane closed her eyes at this.
"I'm almost as surprised as you are. Still, it's there now, and it won't be going away."
At this, what of Happosai's face was visible frowned.
"Not if I can help it!"
"Really now?"
Happosai paused. The air was thick with Ki-Akane never did have fine control-but also with something that smelt, tasted...familiar. An aphrodisiac? Some sort of potion, perhaps? It wouldn't be the first time he'd encountered such. But who'd make such a thing that would cause such a transformation? The power-up makes sense, but...
It was at this time he noticed he was feeling more...energetic than usual. Not enough that the aphrodisiac would do anything to him these days, but...the mind was moving quicker, the arms and legs were feeling a little looser. He looked at himself-He knew his body better than any, and there were certainly one, two....three less wrinkles than before, not that anyone else would notice.
And thus, greed put it's point to the mental table. Keep her around, make nice, and gain youth.
Lost in thought, he almost didn't notice Akane approaching; his senses were saying 'Not A Threat', but who knew what a threat could come from what she was no..
His mind then immediately shut down, as Akane, without any reservation or hesitation, picked him up and shoved him bodily into her newly acquired cleavage, and flooded the area with Ki, whilst sweesing and shifting her breasts.
What the heck? Is she...
Akane unknowingly confirmed his thoughts. "I'm happy like this. I can make you happy, too. You're feeding off me as I am now, getting stronger. You could do a lot. All I want is...not to be alone. I want to meet someone; someone nice looking. But I can't go around like this, and I can't go home....can you help me, Happosai? Please?"
