Well that's the rest of the easy ones, now for Akane. I'm amazed she hasn't caused more trouble. Sneaking a look at her little sister from the corner of her eye she couldn't help but twitch an eyebrow at the deer-in-headlights look seemingly stuck on her little sisters face. Why.... her thought trailed off when she saw what Akane was staring so unblinkingly at. She was staring directly at Kasumi, a scantily clad...brightly smiling Kasumi. Ah, so thats it, it looks like including Kasumi might have had some benefits even I didn't predict. Still, I doubt it will make this much easier. Nabiki thought.
Refocusing on Ranma and the rest of the girls Nabiki got the wrecking ball rolling.”Now that Ukyo has been taken care of we should deal with dear little sister”. The quiet that followed as the other occupants of the dojo turned and looked from the all-to-quiet Akane to the evenings mastermind was absolute.
Nabiki took a few steps to one side so she could turn and have everyone in front of her. Turning she addressed the room's sole male occupant first. “Ranma, if it is alright with you, I have need to speak as your mothers' selected official one more time this evening, Akane will not like what I have to say, but she needs to hear it.”
Ranma looked completely taken aback, Nabiki had been completely running the show up until now, why ask for permission? Was she worried about the contract? Or was she worried about Akane attacking her...well if she was speaking on his mothers' behalf he couldn't very well say no, resigning himself to a record-breaking flight via Air-Akane when this was over he responded with a simple ”Sure Nabiki.”
Nodding her head, Nabiki turned to directly face her little sister and established eye contact. Waiting until she was sure she had Akane's undivided attention she began to speak “For once, I am going to be blunt little sister, brutally so. You are skating on dangerously thin ice, this game is a last ditch attempt to save all of your relationships with Ranma and I do not think you have fully thought through what it all means so I will lay it out for you. Regardless of whether you choose to participate in the game you WILL be held to the basic rules that were established this evening, any fighting or interfering with the game will, for the duration of the game, be penalized. There will only be one penalty for anyone that chooses not to play.” Nabiki paused a breath to make sure her next words would sink in “Immediate and irrevocable removal from the list of Ranma's fiancées. In other words if you choose not to participate; any fights with a rival, even a fight that was provoked, or any interference with the game and it will be over for you, period, end of story. No second chances because this is ALREADY your second chance.” Nabiki let her words hang in the silence for a few moments before continuing. “For those who DO participate the penalties will be, at times, harsh. However they will be penalties that exist inside the game, in example extended contracts, getting locked into a costume, or other such punishments. In short, participation earns you some degree of protection from mild to moderate mistakes, while the results will hardly be comfortable you will be given the opportunity to make up for them.” Pausing again to make sure it sank in she continued with
”I know you littler-sister. I know you better then almost any other mortal on this green earth. If you do not participate in this game you will fail. Within a day or two one of your rivals will succeed in provoking you into a fight, or your own nature will cause you to interrupt the game in some manner. I will offer you one last chance to participate in the game. However, having already proven that your word cannot be trusted, I will only allow you to participate if you agree to a 10 day contract to ensure your cooperation. If you agree to a contract you may either start with the costume that you were assigned, assuming of course that you can make it work, or a new costume can be created from scratch for you using the phone. Costumes created by using the phone are only for base-classes like school-girl, and as such are not as strong as the ones everyone else is using. This is your last chance, I will give you a few minutes to decide.” Hesitating as she turned Nabiki added one last parting piece of advice. “Remember little sis the magic cannot change anything you are not willing to accept, you have seen the evidence of this already with the others. You have nothing to lose by playing, and everything to lose by not.” With her small twinge of family-loyalty satisfied Nabiki turned and began showing Ranma how to use the phones' locater function to track down one of the girls. The other girls moved off a bit and began experimenting with their new weapons and abilities.
Akanes' thoughts were in shambles. First all the others, even her sweet Onee-chan, had played along with her sister's perverted game. Then Nabiki flat out told her that she should play if she was at all interested in Ranma....or even undecided . As for that last bit.....why should I listen to her, all this is her fault anyway! Why not just give up and let the others have him, he's just a baka pervert anyway.... looking down at the costume card that had somehow ended up in her hands she watched the images of costumes cycle. Still there WAS Jusendo... Tightening her grip on the display card Akane made her decision.
