A Chinese ship was heading out at max vee towards a tumbling ship in a cometary orbit.
A Russian ship was slowly getting ready to pursue the Chinese ship.
There were also the normal operations to be expected within a spacestation.
Captain Tessarossa sat back in her chair and listened for a few moments to the normal bridge chatter.
"Algae tank #7 penetrated by a micrometeorite, self-patching material holding, alerting maintenance."
"Corridor C, Sub-Section 12, Orange zone. Agriculture reports leak in irrigation pipe C-12 has been repaired."
"Security to Belowdecks, brawl in progress. Location: O'Malley's Tavern."
"Ore Freighter Xinghua, you are cleared for docking. Private vessel Spacedragon II, please adjust orbit. Transmitting coordinates."
"Status on Lunarians?" asked Tessa.
"They've cleared near-Luna orbit," said one of the operators. "Arrival in roughly twenty minutes."
"Transmit approach path to armslaves and fighters, then have them launch please. They are to take up fast response positions along that path," ordered Captain Tessarossa.
"Aye Captain," said the operator.
"Better safe than sorry," said the Captain to the imposing man standing next to her.
"Oh, he'll be sorry all right," said Commander Richard Mardukas.
"'He'?" asked the Captain.
"Definitely," promised Mardukas.
"Commander?" asked the Captain. "What are you talking about?"
"Highlight which armslave is piloted by Sagara," instructed Mardukas.
The comm officer brought up a display showing blips moving away from the station, then made one blip flash yellow.
"Commander?" repeated the Captain.
"Maybe if I give him 23hour work details for the next month he'll get the hint," mused the Commander aloud. "Didn't someone say that the recycling vats on the port side needed to be mucked out?"
"Commander?" repeated the Captain.
"Eh? I'm sorry, Captain, did you say something?" asked Mardukas.
"Why are you intent on punishing Sergeant Sagara? Did he do something wrong?" asked the Captain. Nobody knew, did they?
"Flagrant violation of chain-of-command protocols," said Mardukas, not embellishing further.
"He doesn't really seem the type," said the Captain, suspecting now that someone HAD talked. Oh dear. "Is this about some particular instance?"
Everyone on the bridge turned towards her and nodded once before turning back to their work.
"Eh heh." Now practically glowing red, made very obvious by her pale skin, Captain Tessarossa fidgeted in her command chair. "I see."
"Good luck, maam," said one of the bridge bunnies in a soft tone.
"Th-thank you." Fidget fidget. Squirm twitch.
"I think maybe he should be keelhauled, can we do that in space?" mused Mardukas.
"Lunarian shuttle approaching," said the comm officer.
