Itachi's Heir: 10 year training trip? FORGET IT!!!! [Episode 217772]

by HistorianoftheKais

As the sun came up over the horizon, the town was racked by the sounds of fighting. Everyone in town quickly woke up to the sounds, heard who was fighting, and promptly went back to bed. As expected, the Saotomes were at it again. Why Genma and Nodoka always seemed to get into brawls with each other was something that the neighborhood had given up on trying to figure out. Nodoka and Genma were obviously in love with each other, but boy could they fight like cats and dogs!

Currently, Genma was busy trying to doge his loving wife's Fire Style: Grand Fireball technique. He always said that she was hot, but this was ridiculous! The slightly portly martial artist shouted out, "Come on No-chan. Why are you doing this? I just want to train Ranma."

Nodoka, who was currently wearing a battle kimono, pulled out a kunai and replied, "You want to take Ranma away for ten years on a training trip. Ten Years! What on earth are you thinking Genma? How can Ranma get his shinobi training if he's gone for ten years?"

Genma quickly shot back, "Why would he need to waste his time on those silly shinobi arts? He needs to be a martial artist!"

That was the wrong thing to say as Nodoka pulled out a kodachi and shouted, "Waste his time? How DARE you say that Genma! In case you haven't noticed, I've been using those 'silly shinobi arts' to make you run! If anything, this proves that shinobi training is superior to martial arts training. Why should our son waste his potential learning the art of a pantie thief when he has the chance to learn the art of a powerful shinobi clan?"

The question of martial arts verses shinobi arts was an old bone of contention between Nodoka and Genma. To the casual observer it might sound like a stupid argument since ninjas used a lot of martial arts moves and many secret martial arts techniques were similar to shinobi techniques. However, there was a world of difference between the two types of arts. Martial artists used Chi, whereas true ninjas used Chakra. Both energies were very similar to each other and could be thought of as different frequencies of the body's natural powers like AM and FM radio. The problem that came up was the fact that a person needed lots and lots of training to tap into either Chi or Charka. Moreover, the training for either type of energy was exclusive and prevented someone from changing which type of energy they used.

Naturally, this caused some friction in the Saotome household. Both Nodoka and Genma wanted their son to learn their style. Nodoka wanted to insure that Ranma carried on the family legacy of being the Uchiha Clan's successor. Genma wanted the Saotome School of Anything Goes passed on so that it could be merged with the Tendo School. Anyone could see that one of the two would have to give up their dreams.
