An American Skunkgirl in Nerima: A(nother) Japanese Tomboy in Quagmire [Episode 217872]

by The Insane Hiker

Meanwhile halfway around the world another teenage girl sat down, she figured that now was as good a time as any to write her family about her first week in her new home.

Dear Kasumi,

Things here in Quagmire are interesting to say the least; sometimes it gets so strange around here that I forget that I'm even away from home. I have to say that its weird living in an embassy, the only estate I know of back home this big is the Kuno mansion.

My host family is interesting enough on their own, not to mention that this is the first time I have ever been around exotic royalty without getting kidnapped by them. Asrial is very nice, it is hard to believe that she is really an alien queen; when I told her about my first day of school here in Quagmire, she even told me that I acted just as her best friend did when they were my age.

Jeremy my host father is an amazing person on his own, he does not look like much but he could probably handle himself in a fight with dad, it is also nice to be around someone that has a solid grasp of Japanese. He also happens to be the principal at Quagmire High School.

Their son Lexus though is weird; it is as if he alternates between being a nice guy and a goofball at the drop of a hat; still at least he does not insult me like Ranma does. Also, do not tell dad or the Saotome's, but I kind of like hanging around him.

As for the youngest Lyra, well she is a little sweetie; to be honest it feels nice not being the youngest one in a house, not to mention this reminds me of you and me growing up only in reverse.

Occasionally we visit the Feeple dojo where Mr. Feeple's brother lives and teaches with his wife Sora (who kind of looks like an elf). I'll tell you now that Ricky-sensei is one of the most amazing martial-artists I've ever met, aside from being a great sensei and phenomenal martial artist; he also reminds me a little of Doctor Tofu, but sorry sis he's married. Yesterday I talked it over with him and he will let me join his class next week (just do not tell Ranma that I will be coming home with a few tricks up my sleeve okay). There is also his adopted sister Bianca (a mouse-girl from Dimension X) who I might add is an awesome fighter in her own right, and trained in both Ricky's style of ninjutsu and European fencing of all things.

Quagmire in itself is unique; although instead of just having insanely skilled martial-artists, there are also super heroes, witches (although not the evil kind, more like those from the Eric Planter books). There are also mad scientists, androids, time travelers, lots of ninja (most of whom are Ricky's students), an actual sentai team, a kitsune woman (who is also the Vice-Principal), a vampire (he's a pretty nice old man actually), fairies, tree-spirits, and as I mentioned earlier aliens… oh and one genuine kaiju that’s sort of the town pet.

School is nice, especially since here, they let you wear gym shorts and track suits instead burumas like back home. It is also nice to attend class without having to worry about Ms. Hinako’s energy drains; although it is odd needing to change rooms every period, it makes for a nice change of scenery, since every teacher appears to have tailored their room to fit the subject, it can get a little hectic getting to your next class on time.

There is one thing weird though; the philosophy teacher’s room has this real funny smell to it. Of course, Ranma would probably consider this school to be Hell on Earth since a lot of the teachers are cat-women, no I am not kidding. There's Meppy the Health & Gym teacher, Kit Kit the English & Debate teacher, Muffy who teaches Math & Science, Pussywillow the History teacher, and Aisha who teaches Art & Theater (she says that I have some raw talent that I could refine in a few years if I worked at it).

Although the town is not as large as Nerima, I still have not seen everything, and it will be a few days before I can. You see, I was curious on what it would be like to be an alien and Lexus showed me something in the basement called the transformation chamber. Unfortunately, by the time, I got out Mr. and Mrs. Feeple caught us, and grounded Lexus for a week.

I on the other hand, am grounded until Monday, barring classes with Ricky-sensei and have to spend the whole weekend stuck in Salusian form because the chamber accidentally broke. Enclosed will be three sets of pictures that I plan on taking over the weekend, I am sure everyone will get a good laugh out of seeing me as an alien skunkgirl. The Feeple's were surprised too; they say that the transformation chamber usually does not work on ears. Please remember to save one set of copies for my scrapbook, but keep them away from Nabiki at all costs! Oh well, at least Ranma is not here to laugh at me for doing something so weird voluntarily.

Love Akane

ps. Nabiki if I find anything missing from my closet missing when I get back, then Kuno will get a hold of your love poems from middle school.

Looking at herself in her bedroom's mirror contemplating a certain portion of her anatomy, Akane cannot help asking herself that one all-important question, "Just how do Salusian Noblewomen sleep without these fluffy tails getting in the way."
