As she set the phone down, softly laughing to herself Chun-Li mused over how lucky she was to have the Tendos as friends. Sure, Akane was hot headed but loyal when it came down to it, Nabiki could make an outstanding investigator if she ever wanted with that cool intellect, and Kasumi was the dream of any man. They also, indirectly, lead her to her husband.
All things said the meeting could have gone better as she had tried to take his head off as he was carrying a limp and unconscious Kasumi out of an alley. A list of all the negative things that could mean led her to go forth and try to stomp him into the ground.
Key word: try.
Even with his burden he flowed around her attacks long enough to set the elder Tendo sister down, while exclaiming it was a misunderstanding. Following lines of thought used more by the youngest Tendo sister she kept up her offence and held even less back on account of Kasumi being set aside and adjusting for the fact her opponent was remarkably skilled.
At the time if she was told he was fourteen to her eighteen she would have been flabbergasted. As it was she only landed a kick to his ribs, one that was hard earned. Then the boy lashed back with lightning quick jabs, a two of which struck her in return. As they stepped back to revaluate Kasumi had awoken and cried out to stop the fight, blurting out an explanation.
The actual story was Kasumi had been pulled into the alley by a local gang when Ranma stumbled by and intervened as they grabbed her clothing. The ordeal was enough that as the last of the gang fell she fainted and he carried her away so she wasn’t lying in a dirty alleyway. This led to the first, and currently only time, Kasumi ever scolded her.
Kasumi scolding anyone was so rare you had to take note. Not that she needed it; the idea of attacking an innocent man was enough to shame her. Her late father, bless his soul, would have thrown a fit a mile long.
Four apologies, and all but demanding she take him out to dinner to make up for it all, and they had started a friendship. He would go out of his way to see her, sometimes to talk, sometimes to spar and others to complain about his father. As the days went by she appreciated his presence more and more, even allowing herself flirt with him a little.
Dear god, she flirted with a boy four years her junior. The worst part was when he figured out she was flirting with him (She suspected Nabiki pointed it out to him, the little viper) and he began flirting back. And as she blushed like a schoolgirl she was willing to finally admit to having a crush on him.
She wasn’t supposed have a crush on anyone! She was Chun freaking Li! On her nineteenth birthday she graduated at the top of her class at the academy! Interpol accepted her application with honours! She was one of the top fighters in China, Japan, even the WORLD! She did not need a man!
And yet her thoughts of avenging her father would give way to thoughts of the boy she met. She tried to push it away, but love bloomed still. She couldn’t believe it! She didn’t need a man! But then Nabiki had to point out one little fact...
Just because she didn’t NEED a man didn’t mean she couldn’t WANT one anyway.
As he turned fifteen and admitted his father was getting ready to leave for China her heart made the choice, almost impulsively. She asked him to marry her.
To say he was floored was an understatement, but it was what she wanted. She wanted the young man to speak with her, be with her for life. She wanted more of the few kisses she’d put on his cheek, the playful pats on her butt (Always responded to with an immediate, but gentle, rap on the head) and how he matched and even improved her skill with him. She wanted to hold his hand on dates, make out on her couch, lure him to her bed and make mad love. One of her fantasies was having sex with him in the park at night, in the open air.
She didn’t need him, but she wanted him so, so badly and was overjoyed when he agreed.
While the marriage was legal and standing with the documents filed there had yet to be a ceremony, only a mock one done by Nabiki and attended by Kasumi, Akane and her two friends from school. It was a subdued affair as they knew he’d leave soon, with a promise for a real ceremony.
Chun-Li Saotome... It had a nice ring to it.

“You know pops; you could have avoided all of this.” Ranma began as he and his father began to walk towards the Tendo Dojo. “I told you what would happen.”
“...”
“Hell, the guide told you about it.” He added. Did it have to be so rainy today? God, what was with the miserable weather? At least once he had gotten over there and begged Nabiki to help sort out this ‘fiancée’ mess he could be reunited with his wife. “The signs were RIGHT THERE!” He added.
“...”
“There was even one in freakin’ JAPANESE!” He continued. God he wanted nothing more than to find Chun-Li, kiss her like never before and hold her until the morning. Hell, they haven’t even gone on their honeymoon! He didn’t know what it was, but if it was anything with Chun-Li he bet he’d enjoy it. “The rat fell in and came out as a BEAR!”
“...”
“And the cockroach came out as a falcon!” He added with his arms spread out for emphasis. How he ended up with a woman like Chun-Li still surprised him. She was a beautiful woman with strength to match, and those legs... KAMI those legs... Not to mention that ass of hers. “And you decided to jump INTO THE CURSED spring just to show there was NOTHING THAT COULD GO WRONG!” He added with a shake of the head.
“Bite me, boy.” Genma finally grumbled out.
“No thank you, mother.” On the plus side, a father with a curse to turn him into a short, buxom blonde had something going for it; comedy potential. He was just lucky his wife taught him Chinese and that HE didn’t end up in a spring and coming out as a... panda or something.
God would that ever suck.
