Not realizing that Bing and Bang (Red spoke Farghul) had already filled her in on the details.
Of course, the two Farghul had decided that Akane had been snubbing them, and that they really didn't like Captain Tenso. Besides, the Captain could take care of herself, right?
On several planets there was a sport called Maulus. It was something like a cross between croquet and bowling, where big mallets would find use and the ball weighed forty five pounds. If Akane had ever tried it, she would have found herself an excellent Maulus player due to her familiarity with large blunt objects.
Red played Maulus. So had one of the Imperials.
Akane composed herself when she saw Red rooting through one of the lockers. She'd just explain the situation and that would be that. "Hey, Red. I just want you to know-"
"Why didn't you shoot him?" Red asked, pulling a rod of about forearm length out of the locker and looking oddly pleased.
"I... couldn't." Akane didn't want to explain her dislike for handguns, engrained in her from Japanese culture. She didn't want to explain how the bounty hunter looked like Mousse.
"I see," said Red, twisting a ring on the shaft. The odd flat part of the shaft blossomed into a large mallet-head.
Akane blinked. Wanting to know where she could get one.
"Akane Tenso! Because of you I went through hell! Prepare to be Whomped!"
"Eeek!" Akane managed on seeing Red charging towards her, mallet raised over her head. Somehow it looked awfully intimidating from this angle.
Xiang Yi instructed the escapees. "Okay, don't bother with a lot of the personal items or garbage. Bing and Bang have taken apart the traps and opened doors on areas they've already checked. It's typical in these hastily abandoned bases for Impies to leave little boobytraps as presents so if the door's locked, don't try to open it yourself unless you're an expert at defusing bombs. The main thing we'll concentrate on are the shuttles and getting supplies for our existing ships. After this, go wherever you want - by splitting up we'll cause delays for anyone coming after us. Any questions?"
"Yaaaaahhhhhhhhhh," said Captain Tenso as she ran by.
"Hold it right there, Tenso!" Red wildly swung the mallet around as she gave chase.
Everyone blinked before someone put up a hand.
"Ayra, isn't it?" Xiang asked the questioner.
Ayra nodded. "Wasn't that Captain Tenso being chased by Erinnica Tate through the Endor Imperial Base with a maulus mallet?"
"Yaaaaahhhhhhh," continued Captain Tenso as she ran out of Corridor C and into Corridor A.
"Come back here, Akane!" Red proclaimed as she continued her chase.
Xiang Yi blinked. "Looked like it. Everyone go ahead. If you need technical assistance, myself or Bing or Bang can probably help.
Akane gasped as she fled the complex. This wasn't nearly as much fun when one was the chasee as opposed to the chaser.
Akane finally came to rest against the trunk of a huge tree and spent a few moments appreciating the huge forest around her. You didn't see this often in Japan. Even in Ryugenzawa. Some of these trees were huge!
tap, tap
Akane blinked for a moment then slowly looked down. A barbarian teddy bear looked up at her, blinked rapidly and began calling out in some strange language.
More and more of the teddy bears began coming out of the woods around her, and as they saw her they began making some ooom-oom noise and bowing to her?!
