When Ranma woke up he just knew it was going to be one of those days. Maybe it had something to do with not waking up wet and female, or from waking up without pain from blunt trauma or a set of panda claws digging in painfully. It might have had something to do with the beautiful rays of sunlight that was shining bright and cheery. Or it could have been the wonderful smell wafting up from the kitchen and Kasumi's beautiful voice lightly singing as she finished the preparations.
All of the signs pointed to it definitely being one of 'those' days. That many wonderful things happening to him was practically unheard of, and when the rare occurrence came around it was always without fail swiftly ruined by some random and incredibly painful fight, humiliating situation involving his curse, disastrous events that would find the blame shifted to him, or even worse all of that combined.
With a solemn vow to be ready for anything, and a quick prayer to any benevolent ancestors he pleaded for the sudden existance of, Ranma set off to the last meal of the condemned. Hopefully his typical luck would be revealed before he must suffer from the unbearable good fortune he was suddenly victim of.
As he feared, breakfast tasted as wonderful as it smelled. Akane was in a happy mood and didn't call him a pervert or attempt to cook. His father was too hung over to scheme or pilfer food. It was actually a relief for a change when he finally noticed that Nabiki was keeping a closer eye on him than was usually safe for his own self-esteem and well-being.
Just then as he took a second look around and let loose his senses to check who was closeby he realized exactly what had set off his feelings of doom.
