Fortunately though, he could take some solace in the fact that this school looked to be interesting enough. He hoped that he'd at least be able to go meet that fox boy. There was no way of knowing if they'd get along, but it might be fun to see how his abilities matched up to the blond kid's.
However, he had to go in, though he wasn't quite sure why that was. Not wanting to over think it, he had headed inside, and he went over to go to his class. Of course, he had to stop to ask someone where exactly it was that he was supposed to head to. It made him wonder why Kasumi had left him like that, but then he figured that she had been out of there too long. Still, he wished that he had even a bit of a familiar face, but didn't let him stop him... until he reached the class.
"Ah, so you are our new student," the teacher commented. "Welcome to our class."
"Thanks.... Not that I'm too clear on how special why I've gotta be here," the pigtailed boy answered, frowning slightly at the concept.
"It's really quite simple, Mister Saotome. We prefer to keep a Master close to his slaves, if it's possible. Sometimes the slave winds up in a special course, but it looks to be the proper place for them."
That wasn't what the martial artist had meant, but he wasn't about to argue the point.
"Come on now. Let's get you introduced," the teacher told him, and went into the class without waiting for him to follow.
He did trail in afterward, not certain of what was going to happen.
"Okay class, homeroom is starting now. Settle down. We've got a new classmate for you."
Ranma tried smiling but settled for standing in front of the room, facing the other students of class 2-A, while:
