The Poltergeist Report Card: Problem That Only Happens in Manga #37. [Episode 219278]

by Proteus

A little under half an hour after he met the crazy vampire girl, Kurama had gotten his things put away, and managed to find his homeroom class before it was too late. A quick look around the room had Kurama wondering how some of these students could pass for human under scrutiny. While most looked like normal people, a few had telltale bulges along their backs, or odd hairstyles to cover up for their lack of control.

Then there was the teacher…

“Hello everyone and welcome to Youkai Academy! I’m your homeroom teacher, Ms Shizuka Nekonome. I know you already know this but…”

Kurama let her go into he explanation of the school’s purpose, more focused on the teacher herself than her words. The illusion that hid her identity as a cat demon was somewhat cleaver, although the woman looked enough like a human she could have walked down the street with just the proper hairstyle to hide her ears and her tail concealed under a dress. With her disguise on, she looked like a somewhat average woman with glasses and a coat. She hid her ears simply by keeping them lowered, then making them appear to be just part of her hairstyle.

“Now as a rule,” she continued after turning away from the chalkboard. “You will be required to remain in your human form while at the academy. In fact, you are forbidden from even telling other students what you really are. Understand? We want this experience to be as authentic as possible. Think human, act human, be human.”

Without waiting to be acknowledged, one of the students cut in. His mannerisms and the way he was dressed, a loosened tie and unbuttoned collar, gave him the air of one of those rough, womanizing playboys. “Hey teacher, why the hell do we have to learn this crap? Wouldn’t it just be better for us to kill all these damn humans and eat them? Well, the guys and the ugly girls anyway, we could keep the pretty ones around to have some fun with.” He smiled and looked around the room. “Am I right guys?”

Ms Nekonome didn’t even flinch at the question, there was always one in every class. “Well, there aren’t any humans in this school, and you can’t be let back into their world before you graduate, so it’s kind of a moot point.” She went over to her desk for a moment to sort through some appears, then pulled out the grade book. “Now, let me just make sure everyone is where they’re supposed to be, and we can-”

The door burst open, and a sweet yet disturbing voice reached Kurama‘s ears. “Excuse me. I got lost on my way from the entrance ceremony.”

You got to be kidding me, Kurama told himself as Moka entered the room. If anything, she looked even more cute and radiant than before. Thanks to his actual age Kurama had long ago learned to resist, if not become completely immune to the sexual charms of a woman.

The rest of the class however, were not.

“W-Who is she?”

“Such long, flowing hair and perfect eyes!”

“Beautiful! Even if it’s just her transformation, she’s so beautiful!”

“THANK YOU GOD FOR PUTTING ME IN THE SAME CLASS AS THIS GIRL!”

Kurama rolled his eyes at the overblown reaction. The girl was cute and was practically dripping with innocence, but this was a little much. Monsters did tend to be less inhibited and more outspoken than humans, but this many guys acting in such a way made Kurama feel as if he’d walked into some dopey manga or something.

For a moment he wondered if everyone here would’ve been acting this way if they had the same encounter with the girl earlier. After the thing had been over, Kurama supposed he’d been a little cold to her, and undeservingly so. Moka didn’t really mean to cause any trouble, and it wasn’t like she just made these kinds of things happen all the time, right?

Once the racket had quieted down, Ms Nekonome pointed to an empty desk. “Please take your seat.”

Moka was thankful that the teacher was so lenient, and the students here were so friendly! Not like her last school…

She shook that thought out of her head, Moka didn’t need her day spoiled by depressing memories. However, something good did come from clearing her thoughts, she caught sight of the redhead she had met earlier that day. He was in her class!

“Shuichi?” Moka asked, confirming what she saw at first glance. “Shuichiiiiiiiiiii!”

When he saw the girl lunge at him, Kurama simply resigned himself to what was coming and stood up. This time, he just didn’t have enough forewarning or space to dodge, and getting tackled by the affectionate vampire while he was still in his desk would have sent them both to the floor. It wasn’t like getting a hug from a cute girl was all that bad either.

Wait a second Kurama thought to himself as the air of the room became filled with danger.

“OUR GIRL! WHAT’S THAT PRETTY BOY DOING WITH OUR GIRL?”

Apparently I underestimated the level of delusion demonic horny teenagers are capable of when in a mob mentality, the fox demon thought to himself with a deadpan expression while Moka continued to be completely unaware of the situation.

Kurama quickly considered his options.

Option 1. Quell the other students via release of demonic aura or just beat them up. It might stop such things in the future, but would get him in trouble with the administration.

Option 2. Let the mob just beat him up. There would be some physical pain involved. Although, it would mark him as a wimp and probably entice others to try bullying him around in the long run.

Option 3. Shove Moka off of him and act like he hated her. He would avoid any more entanglements with her, but it also meant choosing the wellbeing of a bunch of horny idiots over an innocent girl that hadn’t really done anything wrong.

With the mob about to turn violent, Kurama…
