Lamp Of Mihoshi: Konoha: Finals are here [Episode 219400]

by Dragonhulk

“I’m so kicking your ass this year Saotome,” declared a smirking Naruto.

“Dream on. I heard the women yelling from the bathhouse, you’ve only mastered tree walking so far haven’t you?” said Ranma, extremely happy that he was no longer locked in his girl form.

“That’s what you think,” said Naruto his smile never leaving his face, even as his eyes got a far away look as he remembered that particular training session. “Your mom taught me some really cool Jutsu’s that will make sure that I pass this year!”

“One new rule this year,” said Iruka as the students finished forming a line so they could begin the exams, “any Jutsu based off of the Icha-Icha series cannot be used during during this exam.”

“That’s blatant persecution!” shouted Ranma even as Naruto’s shoulders began to slump in defeat.

“No Mr. Saotome; that’s a ruling from the Hokage. Most of those techniques are now listed as kinjutsu.”

“Damn I’m good,” said Ranma as he puffed up a bit in pride, even as Naruto deflated a bit more.

Nabiki watched the exchange of the two boys behind her, and was silently glad for the new ruling. Not just because she didn’t want her clothes shredded by an out of control jutsu, but because she wanted Naruto to be alive to save this village in the future. She for one had no doubt that if the ignorant villagers knew that Naruto knew Ranma’s techniques the demon container would have to constantly be on the lookout for angry fathers fearing for their daughters’ purity.

Finally there is Yakumo to consider. It had never been specified if the girl had a pass on the exams the way that Rock Lee had gotten, so she was standing with all the other hopefuls in line waiting to show off her stuff. Though now that Nabiki thought about it, with Iruka teaching it made sense for Yakumo to take some kind of test, he was one of the few teachers that wouldn’t graduate a student unless he thought they could cut it in the ninja world.

Time began to pass, and Nabiki watched as eight of the famous rookie nine passed the test, while Naruto was begging Ranma to teach him Kage Bunshin.

“Okay Ms. Kurama, you’re up next,” said Iruka. “Now we’ve already been informed of your talent in genjutsu, so we would like a demonstration of the taijutsu skills you have learned followed by performing the Bunshin no Jutsu.”

Yakumo nodded her head and got into the stance that Ranma had showed her, and going through her forms. It wasn’t as well done as when the others in the class had showed off their taijutsu, but she didn’t make too many mistakes and only took a few moments longer then the other people that were tested in taijutsu during the exam.

“Very good,” said Mizuki with a large smile, doing his best to come across as a good guy.

“Now Bunshin no Jutsu please,” said Iruka.

Yakumo’s hands quickly formed the correct seals, and she pumped every last bit of chakra she was able to gain during her time training with Ranma into the technique. The results were less than spectacular as one functioning clone came into existence.

“Your reflexes need work, and you should probably practice your ninjutsu more often to help strengthen your chakra coils, but considering the fact that you couldn’t perform ninjutsu or taijutsu a month ago I’d have to say you’ve made remarkable progress. Congratulations, you pass,” said Iruka.

“I’m a ninja?” asked Yakumo in a combination of hope and disbelief, her entire face lighting up when Iruka gave her a confirming nod.

“I’m a ninja!” exclaimed the Kurama clan heiress almost dancing around the classroom in joy.

The last three tests went exactly like Nabiki wanted them to. She passed by producing two Bunshin, Ranma created a Kage Bunshin and spared with it on the ceiling, and Naruto failed.

It wasn’t that she hated Naruto, and a part of her was hoping that he would pass, but the cold logical part of her told her that it was better this way. The more things changed the less she could plan for, and the less she could plan for the more likely she was to end up dead before she could get back home.

Now things were on track allowing her to make long range plans while dealing with the short term problems. Problems that Saotome was attempting to avoid if the fact that he snuck out of class before Naruto finished his exam.

“I wonder what Aunt Nodoka is planning now,” muttered Nabiki as she gathered her supplies and left the building.
