Ranma went down the stairs, he was deep in thought. 'Who was that person pretending to be me?' he thought, 'could he have slipped us those stupid rings? But why?' The more he thought about everything, the less it made sense; was it just a sick joke to see him/her in such a compromising position.
Usagi and Akane came down the stairs casually holding each others hands. As they made it down to the bottom step, Akane gave Ranma a surprise kiss on the cheek.
"C'mon silly," Akane giggled, "the no point trying to figure this thing out on your own. We'll figure this thing out together, okay." She let go of Usagi's hand and placed on one of Ranma's shoulders. "Listen, don't be such a boy and go try to solve this thing on your own," Akane moved her hand from his shoulder and took one of Ranma's hand and cupped it with both of hers, "you have the whole family to help out."
Ranma didn't say a word but instead nodded in agreement and the three of them headed to the table for breakfast.
At the table already was Soun, who was reading his usual morning paper; and Nabiki, who was just eating. Breakfast was already on the table and Kasumi was just coming out of the kitchen. Usagi, Akane and Ranma acted like normal and joined the family at the table.
"Good Morning," Kasumi said in her normally cheery voice.
The three answered in unison, "Good morning."
"So how was last night, Ranma?" Nabiki asked with a mischievous grin.
"Uh, okay." Ranma answered.
"Really," Nabiki said, "you must have been out like a light, then?" Nabiki was more subtle then usual.
Akane figured out the meaning but didn't want to accuse her anything out loud. She took a few mouth fulls and then placed her bowl down, "Yep, all three of us were pretty much snoozing away."
Usagi nodded and then went for the food which sat before her. She finished her bowl quickly and then asked for more; which Kasumi was more then happy to do.
"So then," Soun put down his paper and folded it, "how long have you been friends with Akane, Usagi?"
Usagi was about to answer but Akane stopped her, "Listen dad, you promise not to get freaked, right?"
"I think so."
Akane then proceeded to tell the whole story, sans the sex; she told about the 'love, love bands' the hotel and about the impostor who put them up in the hotel.
"Really, now?" Soun asked, "This is true, Ranma?"
"It is," Ranma said, "but the bands only work when I'm a girl. As long as I'm a boy, we're just friends." Ranma ate the rice before him and waited for Soun's reaction.
Soun smiled, "Well as long as it's like that, then everything should be okay."
"We're going to continue figuring out whats going on," Akane said standing up, "Usagi, Ranma let's go."
Usagi and Ranma both stood up and headed out the door.
"Have fun you three!" Kasumi said smiling.
As they were outside, Akane stopped Ranma and Usagi, "I think the 'love, love bands' are weakening, Ranma."
"What do you mean, Akane?"
Usagi looked surprised, "Yeah, how so?"
"Because the bands are only supposed to make you fall in love with the person wearing the other ring, right?"
"Yeah and?" Ranma asked.
"And Usagi declared love for me too," Akane said, "I kind of feel the same way, too."
Usagi nodded, "It's true."
Ranma was surprised and the look on his face didn't hide it in anyway, "So what are you saying?"
So what is Akane trying to get at?
