"Ice cream, get yer ice cream right here. We gots da tootsie-fruitsie ice cream. We gots da vanilla. We gots da chocolate. We gots lots."
"Any ramen-flavored?" asked Naruto as the guy went by.
"You coulds maybe buy a tootsie-fruitsie and pretend," suggested the vendor with his pushcart.
"Nah, I don't think that'd work," said Naruto as he looked around more carefully.
The sun had been at early morning in Konoha. Here it was closer to sunset.
There was a beach, white sands littered with the occasional towel or umbrella or discarded pair of flip-flops. There were waves crashing up against that beach.
"Where are we?" wondered Naruto aloud.
"Where did they go?" asked Cat, checking the room.
The Hokage bent down and lifted a pinch of sand from the floor. "Very far away, I suspect."
Naruto laid Hinata down on one of the benches and approached the counter.
"Sorry, kid, grill's closed," said the guy behind the counter. "It was a busy day, and we need to restock."
"Yes sir," said Naruto, being polite because he really had no idea where he was and wanted some answers. Besides, this guy didn't look at him like some monster to be shooed away. "That isn't it."
"Your friend there okay? She's just tired out, isn't she?" asked the counter help.
"I dunno, really, I need to find some help, but first - where are we?"
The guy behind the counter frowned at the little boy, then looked over at the girl, then considered the little boy again. "You're lost? Your mommy and daddy not around?"
"I'm an orphan," said Naruto. "Yeah, we're kind of lost."
"Okay," said the counter help. "You're near the North Pier."
"The North Pier, right," said Naruto nodding. "Yeah."
"You really ARE lost," said the counter help. "You DO know what city, right?"
"Uhm, no?" asked Naruto.
The counter help sighed. "The city of Delanada? Kingdom of Guiseppe?"
"How far away are we from Konohagakure?" asked Naruto as neither of those names sounded familiar.
"'Konohagakure'?" asked the counter help, who then said something rapidly in another language to the cook. The cook replied in the same language.
"That's in the Five Ninja Nations?" asked the counter-guy to Naruto.
"Uh, yeah, Land Of Fire," said Naruto, knowing that much.
The counter help blinked. "When you said 'lost' you were understating it, weren't you? That's at least four or five thousand miles away."
"Oh, yeah, that explains it," said Naruto, nodding for a few seconds. "WHAT?!"
