"The Hokage wants my help?" asked Sakura Haruno, reading the quick note. "Oh! This could be my big chance to show Sasuke how reliable I am!"
Ino Yamanaka's frown changed as she read the note. "The Hokage wants my help? Sasuke will be SO impressed."
"Yaya," said Tenten, having scanned the note and then folded it carefully away. "Help the Hokage guard a patient. He must have heard how I did on the ranged weapon tests. Let's see. Kunai. Shuriken. I don't think I'll need the senbon..."
"Hmph," said Sasuke, detecting his uncle's handwriting and deducing it was a trap. Naturally he threw away the offending scrap of paper. Like hell he was going to fall into THIS trap.
Unless his Uncle had figured he'd ignore the trap, in which case this wasn't a trap. Unless Uncle Genma had planned that he'd ignore the trap, then change his mind, in which case.
Sasuke glanced at the now-crumpled note. "i hate xanatos gambits."
'now:'
"Hokage!" asked Iruka as he came jogging up. "What is the meaning of this?"
"What is the meaning of what?" asked the Hokage, still distracted by wondering what Naruto was doing. Why was there a circle of sparkles showing around him?
"This!" said Iruka, holding up a piece of paper.
"What?" asked the Hokage. "It's blank."
Iruka checked. "What? It had writing a minute ago."
"Why don't you just tell me what it said?" asked the Hokage.
"It said that you required help, that you had a patient that required monitoring, and that I should report as quickly as possible," stated Iruka, puzzled.
"Why are there other people with Naruto now?" asked Hiashi Hyuga as Naruto and Hinata were now surrounded by a circle of silver fire.
Then there was an abrupt winking out, after which Naruto was missing. Hinata was missing. So was anyone else having crossed that line.
