Not that he was particularly feeling like he was dealing with glory right now. Instead, he was huddling in a dockside building, hiding his true intentions from all, save for those who were directly working with him. However, he didn't intend on staying there at all, and had big dreams for getting to the top. Much as he could see the stooges down on the ground floor putting themselves out, he was going to be sitting pretty above all those little people. Of course, he wasn't planning on taking over the ruling of the place, as he merely wanted to be in charge of what went on in the secret areas.
That was what had brought him there, and had him participating in this... project. They'd get their start, and soon be able to take on all the syndicates that would be thinking to get a slice of the city's pie. If anything, he was lucky, since he was already here, and they were going to have to break in from the outside. And as they tried to get their own territory, he was already going to be reaping the rewards.
As he opened the door to the office, he could see that it was already occupied by an attractive woman. Relatively tall, with her long legs crossed as she lounged in a chair by the sole desk in the room, she held a goblet up to her full lips, and then seemed to think better of it. Her finely sculpted features showed not a sign of distress over her decision, and she twisted her slender body about to face him.
Oh, and she was green, but not as in being inexperienced. The truth was that her skin was a fine verdant shade, with delicate scales running over it, and her hair, as lustrous as it was, happened to be relegated to one long ponytail. Yet none of this actually detracted that much from her beauty.
"Nice of you to come visit, Birdie," she idly commented.
The big human snorted and twisted his mouth up as he looked away. "I was kind of busy, you know."
"Really? And did you think that I wouldn't know that?"
"Well...."
"Do not strain yourself," she murmured, spearing him with a flat glare. "Unless you are planning to get yourself into more trouble than you want."
"I'm not looking for a problem, Savan."
"Good for you. Because this isn't the time for such things."
"Yeah, you're right. But still, we've got it made," Birdie snickered.
"Everything settled then?"
He gave a nasty grin. "Don't you worry. No one's going to try and act up."
"Intimidated them, did you?"
"With the way they are, they're going to be jumping at their shadows. You aren't going to need some suit wearing pansy for this."
"And that is why you would have never been able to taken over your old boss' operation," Savan sighed as she swung her shapely legs around to be able to stand in front of the hulking brute.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"It 'means' that you are an idiot."
"Hey!"
"Think about it. Scared people can acted just as foolishly as angry people," the green woman stated, peering up into his eyes with an utterly cold gaze. "If it was that easy to beat others into submission, there wouldn't be a rebellion at all, would there?"
"I guess not...."
"Then do not 'guess'. Just trust that I understand what is to be done. I did not spend all that time waiting to get out of that damned Republic prison to simply be caught and put into whatever cells this place has."
"But still...." he began.
"No, don't start. You are too direct to lead this operation, even if I wasn't here. Sometimes, a knife in the dark, a bit of secret information, or a little... persuasion, monetary or... otherwise, can help much more than a punch to the face. That is why you are the brawn, and I handle being the brains."
"If you say so."
"I do 'say so'," she scoffed, and turned to look out the sole window of the room. "I might have missed my chance to secure a hold on Black Sun, but now I can create a power base that is all my own."
Even though he was annoyed that he had been so simply slapped down, Birdie let it go for the moment. So far, working with her had proven to be showing signs of being good for him, and he liked the prospects that they were seeing. It was just that she was a cold and nasty person who didn't seem to understand the... enjoyment that came from the criminal life. That was a shame though, as she did have a nice ass for an alien chick.
Shrugging to himself, he let her be for the moment, while:
