"Sakura?" asked Naruto, though clearly the pink-haired girl was a little different than he remembered. "Another Hinata? Ino? What's going on?"
"Fascinating," said a girl. "This seems to bear out some of the theories on multidimensional physics."
Hinata woke up, stretched, noticed that she was staring at herself, and wondered what the heck that meant. "What?"
"We ought to get a copy of the manga," continued the slightly older girl. "It will be interesting to see how it bears out."
"Right," said a SECOND Sakura as she rushed off.
"Sakura, where are you... is this a Kage Bunshin thing?" asked Naruto.
"No," said the girl who seemed to find all this interesting. "When Ranma Saotome was here, he remarked on the large number of individuals who seemed duplicated from sources in his own world. I suspect the same thing is in effect here. I've just GOT to call this in."
"Okayyyyyyyyy," said Naruto. "Still, we got Sakura and Ino back, so we can all just go home, right?"
"No, if your versions are lost in this world, returning home without them would probably not go over too well," offered Ino as she went to a guard position at one end of the clearing.
"So, you're another me native to this world?" asked Hinata as she stared at herself.
"That seems to be the case," said Hinata. "Though in our world we were all born in seperate areas and gathered here because we were all named after characters from the 'Naruto' series."
"Series?" asked Naruto.
"Yes, it came out originally in pre-Sukebe times and ran through much of the War," said Hinata-2. "Old calendar 1997."
Hinata slowly got up and extended one hand to touch the ears on top of her counterpart's head.
Naruto swallowed nervously as the pokegirls he recognized showed differences that weren't simply someone getting a duplication or clone technique wrong. Ino, for example, had long tapered ears and eyes that were a brilliant green color compared to the 'real one's' blue eyes. Naruto also couldn't remember seeing Ino use a quarterstaff - but this Ino had one made of some dark wood and banded with a dull green metal.
"Well, while we wait," said the Hinata with odd ears and golden eyes. "I'm Hinata. I'm originally from Stornoway in the Blue League. My breed is Cheshire. That's Ino. She's an Elf."
"Pleased to meet you," said the blonde guardian.
"You've seen two of the Sakura, they're sisters," continued Hinata-2.
"There's more than two," said Hinata-1, picking up on that.
"Following the two of you talking is going to give me a crick in the neck," complained Naruto.
"They're identical triplets," said Hinata-2.
"Three... Sakura?" asked Naruto, his mind catching up just in time to boggle.
"I'm a Meganeko," said Hinata, taking a pair of glasses out of her pocket.
"Three Sakura? Waitaminute, there's still the real one," said Naruto. "FOUR Sakura?"
"We'll help rescue your world's version, and then we can all go back," said the older-looking pokegirl.
